Last week, The Glitch Mob released a solid new mixtape. 27 tracks, mixed together to make a wonderfully glitched out, hour long mix. Embedded are some new beats, some classic tunes, and some incredible new remixes. Midterms are coming to an end for most of you, and the weekend is right around the corner. Check [...]
Days after the release of Dancehall/Hip-Hop artist Winstrong's single "Rude Boy" comes the stunning video! The Bay Area based by way of South American is in the studio finishing his Fall 2011 LP, Ghetto Hymns, which features Jah Dan, Abtract Rude, M1 of Dead Prez, Haiku De Tat and more. Winstrong has been delivering his brand of "singjay" (a combination of singer and deejay) for a minute. After migrating to the US in his late teens in 94, he started recording at Conscious Sound Productions (Ursa Minor) with Benjamin Grand Depaux and later recorded a Jazz-fusion [...]
Uploading media is such a pain the ass, but I've got the ftp server up, so I might as well keep it blazing away as long as it continues to work properly. It's always the best when it uploads something and times out at 99%. Anyways, I'm in the process of trying to find software where playlists can be made with the music already on this site, but can be loaded anywhere there is internet access. So for now, keep checking back. This song drives Lesleh crazy, she says it's stupid, but I think it reminds me of [...]

Calling In Sick ! Leurs productions sont principalement réussies grâce à la puissance de la guitare électrique et du piano. Un EP devrait voir le jour avant la fin d'année 2010. Calling In Sick - Cali Games [...]

![[Fresh] The Glitch Mob Scratches More Beats](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2535663_lg.jpg)
It is hard to write a good review about The Glitch Mob because all I really wanna shout is: THESE GUYS ARE THE $%!# AT PRODUCING ELECTRONIC CLUSTERFUCKS OF GLITCH/TRIP-HOP/ELECTRONIC BEATS. No joke, no sarcasm, no bullshit. If Ratatat redefined the way we look at instrumental electronics by establishing themselves in the very genre they influenced, The Glitch Mob is out to change the current state of glitch, trip/hop electronics and transform it into something we have yet to define. Whether it is by doing it collectively under one moniker, or individually as edIT , Ooah [...]

haiku d'etat - "mike, aaron & eddie (boreta remix)" I'm having a hard time putting into words how great this remix is. Boreta of The Glitch Mob just made this banging remix of the classic Haiku D'Etat track available for free download right here . All you need to do is give them an email address. Trust me, it's worth it. I've been listening to this on repeat all day. Look out for The Glitch Mob 's Drink The Sea record [...]

BK-One "Here I Am" feat. Phonte, Brother Ali & The Grouch Better known as Brother Ali's DJ, BK-One takes his years of experience as a DJ and puts on his producer hat joining forces with up and coming Twin Cities beatsmith Benzilla to craft a Brazilian musical bed for some of Hip Hop's most engaging MC's. Rádio Do Canibal features appearances by Scarface, Slug (Atmosphere), Black Thought (The Roots), Brother Ali, Raekwon (Wu-Tang Clan), Murs (Living Legends), Phonte (Little Brother), Haiku D' Etat (Aceyalone, Myka 9 & Abstract Rude), Blueprint, [...]
"Thynk Eye Can" is the latest video from Abstract Rude' s Rejuvenation lp guest starring Haiku d'etat members Aceyalone & Myka 9.

Australian band (but not a band in its traditional sense, they'd have us know) Resin Dogs released their album 'More' this month. It's a Hip Hop affair featuring voices from the US, the UK and Australia – a fact that keeps each track fresh and different. Haiku D'etat (Aceyalone, Mikah 9 and Abstract Rude) do the opening honours with 'Coming With The Sound' and they set things off on a very good foot – headnods and singalongability. Oneself MC BluRum 13 follows up with 'End Game' with a cool, calm and collected manifesto. Disco beats abound on [...]
Abstract Rude is the independent Los Angeles hip-hop mainstay who co-founded Project Blowed and stood next to Aceyalone and Myka 9 in Haiku D'Etat—all currently touring together—and much more. His newest Rejuvenation (produced by Vitamin D) is out now on Rhymesayers and he is also working on RudeNation TV online. This interview by Chris Ziegler.

The folks at online marketing and publicity firm RED are giving away a pair of tickets for every date of the Haiku D'Etat tour. That includes a May 20 stop at Chaser's in Scottsdale (and May 19 at Club Congress in Tucson for that matter). Haiku D'Etat is the sorta haughty-sounding moniker for the trio of Aceyalone , Myka 9 and Abstract Rude , all well-respected for their contributions to the underground scene in L.A. Aceyalone and Myka were founding members of Freestyle Fellowship , and Haiku D'Etat follows in the [...]

After introducing us to second annual Monolith Music Festival earlier this week, Matt Friedman returns with a recap of day one's festivities.... Before we even entered the festival grounds, we were out of breath. We parked fairly close, but the lots were far enough down the hill that there was a hike and the incline was steep. After climbing hundreds of stairs, we entered to the right of the main stage and looked up at hundreds more. My legs were already a little tired, so I knew that this "vertical festival" [...]

Image credit: Max Williams I was ten years old when I bought my first cassettes. With some of my savings I took the bus to the city with my brother and got two singles, Sir Mix-a-Lot's Baby Got Back and Del tha Funkee Homosapien's Mistadobalina . It was a big deal back then in 1992, listening to them back-to-back all summer long. Over the years I continued listening to hip-hop, but because most of my money was spent on video games for the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis for US readers) [...]
