There once was a man that liked to electronic music, remixes, and the word cumberbun... That dude is me. True Story: I was once told by a stranger at a wedding that the casual cumberbun exists... I think thats cool. Green means go. For more jams or by any of these artists use the 'tags' links at the bottom of the post! Designer Drugs , the New York-based duo of Michael Vincent Patrick and Theodore Paul Nelson, are probably best known for their hardcore electro stylings they dub "Grindhouse." This time around, they took a brief break from the electro equivilent of hardcore metal and delivered us two fantastic, dark sounding, free downloads. If you're a fan of indie rock vocals with soothing electro (who isn't?) these one's are for you. Still sticking to their 'dark' roots, these two remixes have not disapointed fans. In the past three days, over 5,000 people have checked out the pair of tracks. [...]

New York electro thrashers are back with another remix after being crowned one of America's top DJs. Sounds like a little disco roots with a nice pad at the start. Female vocal goes perfect with the snyth. You almost think this is going to be a chill song but the drop at 2 minutes hits like Terry Tate. Enjoy. Bonus From Candy Land Follow Me [...]

Toronto - Memory Tapes is the alias of Dayve Hawk, which may or may not be the greatest name ever. Hawk used to be part of the band Hail Social, the band that produced two pretty good songs - Get in the Car and Hands Tied . It should come as no surprise that his Memory Tapes has taken off recently, where chilled out electronic tunes like Bicycle and Today is Our Life has found a home on the ipods of as many Williamsburg hipsters as you can find. [...]
Artist: Foster The People Album: Torches Genre: Medicinal Synth This is the first and only album thus far from the LA based band "Foster The People". They formed in 2009 but just released their first album a few months ago. The album has done pretty well for itself, especially for a debut album, but I'm [...]

You can't put a price on quality. Quality can be defined as "an attribute, characteristic or property of a thing or phenomenon that can be observed or interpreted, and may be approximated but cannot be measured, such as beauty, feel, flavour, taste". Quality transcends the brackets of time for its existence is eternally limitless - it defies age. Anoraak is an artist whose music makes others look bad. His latest released yesterday, a dreamy remix [...]

Today we're throwing back to an offshoot individual who formed Weird Tapes out of Hail Social and later became involved in Memory Tapes. The Weird Tapes quickly became one of my favourites back in 2008 and every now and then it's great to look back. That statement becomes even more true with how good he sounds and Dayve Hawk is that good. Being artistic and extremely creative he always leaves you wanting more. He is extremely innovative with a unique musical approach, which really comes through in his work. For me the tracks [...]

A few random thoughts this Saturday. - I've already lost interest in Lost, again. - Frances Bean Cobain is pictured above. I wonder if she'll be more like Kurt or Courtney? I hope she is nothing like Kelly Osbourne. - I've been listening to a lot of the new "Hole" album. There are some really good songs on there, but why call it a Hole record? It's not. Courtney does show some maturity, and even a little soul. - SXSW used to be really cool. Why did they turn [...]

fauxShow has brought some pretty impressive talent to town since being established. The streak appears like it wont be slowing down anytime soon, as they'll be bringing one of Brooklyn's foremost party crews to their Friday night party at Club Sanctum on 7th Ave. Designer Drugs is going to push the world-class sound to the brink with their blend of heavy electro and bass. You can get all the info your heart desires on the event page . Here's a few of my favorite remixes that the group has released in recent years. In [...]

- PHOTO BY HOBO GESTAPO Over the past few months we have heard enough Diamond Cut remixes to know they are mint as hell. We applaud them for their efforts and we definitely want more from them. Remixing the likes of Monarchy, Fear Of Tigers, Hail Social & Cinnamon Chasers is a big deal to us and they are all amazing stuff. We shall let the remixes speak for themselves this time round. MP3 FEAR OF [...]

Rhythmic synth is what it's all about in this next gem from Diamond Cut . Their trademark heavy synth-styled sound is present in all of these but it's the fantastic disco-house rendition of LexiconDon's Heart Attack that has me craving for more this time around. It hit blogs a few weeks ago so if it looks familiar it probably is. However it's one of those remixes that just seems to stick around longer than it should. The others below are a bunch of classics that are too good to pass up on. Diamond [...]

I was longing for the third album from the great band Hail Social when I got the sad news that Hail Social is no more. That's a shame on such a fine band. In June this sentence was published on their blog: "Hail Social is no longer an active band and has not been for years now" . So instead of waiting I can only hail them. Their second album "Modern Love & Death" that was released in March 2007 is a great record that haven't got that right attention that it should. So go [...]

Writing posts about the next "Club Banger" gets sort of tiring after awhile considering half the time we dont even listen to the heavy stuff so today we thought it would be good to provide you music from the more grown up side of electro.. ANORAAK! Today we thought it would be fitting to write about one of our favorite producers, DJs that isn't trying to blow the speakers from each of his mixes. Anoraak is one of those artists that you can play anywhere and people (above the age of [...]

From blog breaks to trashed tracks with Hot Pink Delorean. This is a reprint of a bomb ass interview from M-Audio. For more sweet sit downs, check out M-Audio's interviews here . After an impulsive leap from D&B to new electro, Hot Pink Delorean's cheeky blend of house and dance-rock quickly swept blogs and dance floors around the world. It didn't stop there - DJ AM banged out Hot Pink Delorean remixes of Mephisto Oddessy's "Bump" and MIA's "Boys" on the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, while artists from The Qemists & Mike Patton to Britney Spears [...]

MEMORY CASSETTE - SURFIN' (SHAREBEE link due to server limitations) MEMORY CASSETTE - ASLEEP AT A PARTY (SHAREBEE link due to server limitations) Hi Everybody! I recently stumbled over New Yersey based Memory Cassette aka Memory Tapes aka Weird Tapes and really liked what I heard. They just released a new EP titled Call & Response , which todays tracks are culled from. You can find further information and [...]

Photo - Going Other Places via somewhere else Memory Cassette , Memory Tapes or Werid Tapes.. The myth or man behind it all is actually Dayve Hawk (interesting read over at Pitchfork ) of previous and still current fame Hail Social and has seen a lot of blog love from most and usual suspects. What Dayve and Patrick (the man behind label Acephale ) have cooked up is a free, yes free little ep to support the full album already purchasable right here . Dayve [...]

Beautiful pop music seems to be cropping up in my iTunes' top 25 most played more and more often these days. I could blame the warmer weather of Summer but I'll be honest, it's still a bit chilly in Montreal. In any case, my newest find would be the band Memory Cassette . Comprised of a ex-member of Hail Social and Weird Tapes, Memory Cassette is beautiful music; plain and simple. To over describe it would be an injustice. Besides having a wonderful blog , they have an upcoming limited edition 73 being co-released from Acephale [...]

Annie provides great source material; pretty young thing to work with for remixes. Listening to the Designer Drugs remix, which is awesome, surfaced nostalgic feelings of the time that MSTRKRFT was contesting for electro greatness and they were putting out remix after remix, each oozing with quality. Now, umm , not so much. MSTRKRFT is dropping off the radar. Designer Drugs is certainly showing promise. The party kids from Philadelphia , the home [...]
