The band says "It's one of five brand new songs on our upcoming release, "Feathersongs For factory Girls, Part Two" and we think you might be a little surprised by it." The new album will be released (digital, vinyl and compact disc) on May 17.

Stripmall Architecture have an information-packed post and I need to share it . A new ep EP is going to be called "Albino Peacock" and will be out on CD and digital in January 2011. Take the time to listen to them and go back to find some Halou and Anymore.

I updated all the links in the right-side column. All 15 podcasts should link properly again. In a rare visit to myspace , I came upon this band: Return To Mono . I listened to the first track in the player and decided I should hear more. This act reminds me a bit of Halou , who are also based in the Bay Area. Daybehavior have a new single out. It's available on iTunes and Amazon. "It's a Game" includes [...]

Rarely does a band breakup work out. Either the truly talented members of the band leave the remaining members to flounder there way into obscurity or the dissolution destroys the chemistry that was necessary to create great music. When Halou disbanded, the result was two uniquely different bands that each make their own brand of genius. We featured one of the bands ( Stripmall Architecture ) last month and we're thrilled to now bring you the other band: Inu. Originally from Austin, Texas, Count [Mikael Eldridge] has been involved in just about every [...]
Stripmall Architecture is a music project by Ryan and Rebecca Coseboom, the very same couple behind one of the best genre-crossing electronic acts: Halou. Further back, they made beautiful bliss-pop as "Anymore." Stripmall members also include Patrick Harte, Tim Hingston, Roberto Burgos and Erica Mulkey. The debut CD "We Were Flying Kites" is available here . It's offered as a download as well (only $5 !) I am posting this because I adore all the Halou and Anymore material I own. They even have perfect cover of a Cocteau Twins song, so please look into their [...]
Stripmall Architecture announced: "For a short time you can download the exclusive track, "18 Minutes" totally free. "18 Minutes" is a little bit different than what you might expect from us but we hope you enjoy it. Download 18 Minutes now ." "When their longtime band, Halou, came to an end in 2008 (during a US tour with indie legend Bob Mould), Ryan and Rebecca Coseboom regrouped quickly and launched their new project, Stripmall Architecture ." As a huge Halou and Anymore fan, I am happy to hear more material from this superb act.
My InBox made my day... absolutely love this mix of music styles. It's what I'd do if I could Do . I hope this is not a marketing joke: "Inu is the new band from Count [DJ Shadow, New Order, Radiohead, Halou], Tim Hingston [Nyles Lannon], and Zoe Keating [Imogen Heap, Rasputina]" That's a list of major talent. The music has me quite excited! Check it all out at: http://www.inumusic.com/ As of this post, you can get the track "The Bailing" if you supply the usual info. I've found that signing-up for such things [...]

OMFG, new material from Halou / Anymore in the form of Stripmall Architecture: http://stripmallarchitecture.b andcamp.com/album/we-were-flyi ng-kites Ryan and Rebecca Coseboom offer up more brilliant material. The best part is, it's free at 128kbps quality download and then you set the price! Be sure to listen to track 4: Stop Thief. This is a classic track from one of my most beloved couples.

Norwegian tranplant Kate Kavnevik is playing an acoustic show tomorrow night at The Living Room. Kate is currently finishing her follow-up to 2006's Melankton . Spin Magazine described Melankton as a " glowing, mostly electronic set more in time with Björk, moving swiftly from gorgeous strings that wail like sirens to Havnevik's breathy, meditative melisma. " The break-out track from this release was "Unlike Me" which was used in Season 2 of Grey's Anatomy. Links : Kate Havnevik's [...]

Halou - It Will All Make Sense In The Morning

The lovely Miss Julie, beloved friend of such and such. It really wasn't an off week, since I was working on commissions and such, but still, not having to pump out a painting every day was very nice indeed. I played a lot of video games, smoked a bit, painted a Julie, and read a lot of weird emails. I got paid, IN ADVANCE! And, I recieved a very nice card from my friend. I cleaned my blinds, yuck. Brian was home FOUR days this week, and that was very nice indeed. I keep saying very [...]

08-you-are-one-of-us I need a nap, the first one is far from done, the hair is taking me a long time to work through. Death to hair!

It's hard to believe now, but the first Bob Mould show (post Hüsker Dü) I had the opportunity to attend took place in Cleveland, Ohio during the Workbook Tour in May of 1989. A couple of years later, I returned to Cleveland and actually had the chance to participate in an interview with Mr. Mould for WUJC (now WJCU) at a long since defunct club called The Empire in 1990. I still have the

This year Halou celebrates 12 years as a band and returns with their most compelling work to date, the Sawtooth EP. Although still atmospheric and moody, the markedly harder edged sound of the new recordings also marks the addition of legendary guitarist Robin Guthrie [the Cocteau Twins] and cellist Zoe Keating [Imogen Heap/Rasputina]. Their hauntingly melodic contributions to the new record offer a great juxtaposition to the underlying heaviness of the new material. In addition to the band's work on their own new album, the past few years have been spent using their production skills to help sculpt [...]

Halou is another project by Ryan and Rebecca Coseboom ( R/R Coseboom ) And if this all looks somewhat familiar to some of you that is because I have previously mentioned this duo HERE . It is President's Day here but not everyone got a holiday, sadly...But everyone I seem to know right now is either just getting over being sick or is sick currently...I have to be honest I am a little scared my immune system won't be able to fight this all off. I mean it [...]
