Tomorrow night kicks off a season of Charity Gigs in the Capital. In light of the recession this may well be the best way to see your favourite bands in the future. Lets face it, going to a great gig is much better than signing up to a direct debit for life! Fair play to the bands taking part! Thursday 5th Feb: The Swell Season, Paul Noonan, Carly Sings, Liam Ó Maonlaí and Mark Dignam! Jack L, Munday and The Waterboys have been added to the following gigs for Gaza! [...]
Muzu.tv is another fine example of the Irish adding to the Global musical landscape. Muzu.tv is a music video site similar to YouTube with a massive difference. The bands get paid for having their video viewed. This difference will see Muzu.tv becoming a massive part of the future for the record labels and bands. You should be able to view these clips no matter where in the world you are! http://www.muzu.tv/ The Coronas - Decision Time THE CORONAS - The Coronas - Decision Time [...]

I have just done the now traditional best of the year mixtape (cd) for my neice and our good friend in the UK. It wasn't an easy task this year trying to fit everything into 70 minutes. I think 2008 was a great year for Irish music. You can argue that there wasn't a 'Joshua Tree' or 'Live and Dangerous' to be seen but the sheer volume of really good albums was encouraging. Remember to support the artists by visiting their MySpace, catching them live and buying their albums. Best of 2008 Mixtape 1. The Coronas [...]
Ham Sandwich are an amazing Irish rock band from Kells, Co. Meath with wonderful female and male vocal harmonies. They have a brilliant debut album out called Carry The Meek and just released a new single from it called Sad Songs. MySpace Keepsake Live from Whelans Saturday 11th November Click Click Boom Do You Think I'm Sexy

Its indicative of how few venues there are really in this country that a band like Ham Sandwich have to play two gigs in a day in one place in order to just get out there and play. Its indicative of how indifferent the country is to its own music scene that fuck all people turn up to the afternoon show. This could be down to a couple of reasons not least of which is the fact that most people are probably hungover to fuck still or more likely they might as well wait until the evening show because then [...]
Irish band Ham Sandwich excel in the artistic video stakes with this superbly animated clip for their seventh single. ham sandwich - BrokenGlass on MUZU .
Astonishingly, Ham Sandwich are on their seventh single release already, suggesting a dedication to the medium not seen since the days of Motown. Happily 'Broken Glass' is more of the same high quality catchy yet dark pop that we've come to expect from one of State's bands of the year. There's a great video too, showing exclusively on MUZU TV right this minute. The band are out on tour too…. 01 Nov PORTLAOISE - Breakers 08 Nov DUBLIN - Whelans - 1:30pm (all ages) 08 Nov DUBLIN - [...]

The second of our three bands in last Thursday to record a session, representing the Kells massive, were Ham Sandwich who performed 'Keepsake' and 'Broken Glass' and hung outside on our roof afterwards. [...]
