Between work and "the move", my resources have been fully obligated. The suck is now over, and I should be back on the grind. Found some rad new Fresh & Only's tunes amongst many others soaked in murky garage goodness. The Outsiders - You Mistreat Me Intelligence - Secret Signals Lenguas Largas - I Feel Rainbow Bridge - Big Wave Rider Fresh & Onlys - Happy To Be Living Fungi Girls - Crystal Roads [...]

There's something quirky and memorable to Boston, MA band, Hands and Knees . Previously posted on last week's mixtape, I figured a little more info on said band was necessary. (Or at least a few more tunes!) Pop at its root core, but very rough around the edges and delivered with some ferocity to it. Et tu, Fluffy? will keep your head moving and the mixture of boy/girl vocals of Joe O'Brien and Carina Kelly work flawlessly. Album out now on Midriff records and it sure is a fun one to listen to. After hours of listening to outstanding and fresh music, I left TT the Bear's feeling elated yet slightly depressed. Four fantastic bands performed that night, but few were there to bear witness. In fact, the fifteen total musicians made up about a third of the audience. Of course, Animal Collective had whisked away over 2,000 to the other side of town. And the Bruins and Celtics were playing pivotal playoff matches. And I admit, I struggled to stay out until one on a Thursday night, but I'm eight months pregnant. What's everyone else's excuse? [...]

by zerone Pop Out Player I was a free and lazy bird this weekend but was keen to jump at opportunity. Sometimes it's about putting yourself in a comfortable position to act when called upon. We'll sidestep the abyss of philosophical thought to heed the words of T.S. Elliot with an excerpt from his poem Rannoch, By Glencoe . [...]
by marissa bea We have a great variety of new albums and incredible bands for y'all this time around. From Boston, to Oklahoma, these bands all explore something great about mixing the modern with the tried-and-true. Look out for each and every one of these in your local music stores or online. Get to know them, learn them, love them. Anya Marina kicks us off with a track from her January release Slow & Steady Seduction: Phase 2 . via Chop Shop Records. Without further [...]

Hands and Knees are a quartet based out of Boston. Just at the end of this past April the band released their debut album Et Tu, Fluffy? on Midriff Records, which happens to feature eleven solid tracks of jangly indie-pop. That doesn't really help shed light on what this band is all about though, as they aren't just another throw away flavor of the month shooting for some sort of hipster cred. However, I do hope the band gets plenty of favorable response for this record as it's [...]

EMERGING: We receive dozens of albums each week and are offered more still digitally through email each week... but it oddly makes sense that one of our favorite new albums of 2009 comes from right here in Massachusetts... Meet Hands and Knees - this completely indie and beautifully unpolished quartet are on the verge of releasing, Et Tu Fluffy? - a vibrant eleven song album that has us hoping this music group will be around for a very long time. [...]

Massachusetts' Hands and Knees are your favorite band's early years. You know, those days when they were kinda rough and didn't bow to pop sensibilities and record labels and "money?" Because, let's be real, who wants any of that action...? Me. But what's great about Hands and Knees is they take all the cute rough and evolve it into a whole sound in itself. They are that jangly, animalistic fever rock that knows how to take good care of you. You can make love to them and mosh with them. This is a good thing. The [...]

Holy Crap! There are a ridiculous amount of good shows tonight. Starting things off in Baltimore, Wye Oak plays the Talking Head with Hands and Knees and Small Sur. In DC, the Rock & Roll Hotel hosts The Rosebuds, Drug Rug, and Carol Bui. Finally in Philly, Johnny Brenda's has a good one in Aderbat, Bon Savants, An American Chinese, and Peasant. Prior to A Sunny Day in Glasgow's maiden voyage into live performance, sonic architect Ben Daniels sent out a memo to his booster club (later published by club treasurer Matt Fluxblog ) telling all of us what a terrible show we were in for Sunday night. Their drummer was to be a spastic iPod for one. Two, his sisters/vocalists had never performed in front of a crowd, or even sung and played keys at the same time. Three, they had only practised twice. Quite the unusual set up letter, which was either a slyly [...]
