There have been a lot of silence around the Swedish indiepop-band Hari and Aino lately, but today they came out from their hiding-places with great news. Yet another band with a deceptive name. You'd think with a name like Hari and Aino, there would be two of them. But no, there appears to be five. It's funny how these preconceptions play into the music itself. I was quite surprised when I put this song on and it sounded incredibly rich for a two person band. Hari and Aino make lovely indiepop, with cheerful music interludes and vocal harmonies left, right and centre. They are of course a Swedish pop band, which should be your mark of quality right there. Brooklyn's Crystal Stilts recently recorded a session over at Daytrotter, which along with a few tracks from last year's debut Alight of Night, also featured two new tracks from the band. Both "Through the Floor" and "Sycamore Tree" are delightful to listen to, that is, if you find a poppier version of Joy Division enjoyable. Am Freitag, dem 27. März, ist es wieder soweit - Norddeutschlands beste Tanzveranstaltung, Hit the North findet ab 22 Uhr im Nachtasyl (über dem Thalia Theater) statt. Wie üblich werden vorher zwei kleine, feine Indiebands live aufspielen: Hari & Aino und die Language of Flowers-Nachfolgeband Help Stamp Out Loneliness .
