Oh, you know where this is going. And, yes, yes, we'll get there in time. But first, let's let give the one-time Marion Robert Morrison a chance to try singing himself, shall we? Ouch. Okay, okay. We might be better off with someone singing about John Wayne. Billy Idol, claiming to be John Wayne. Some... er, nice effects on that video there, then. Oh, alright. I know what you're waiting for: Proving, if nothing else, that professionals can go a bit nuts with the effects buttons. [Buy: [...]

Haysi Fantayzee is a group from the UK that had some minor success with singles Shiny Shiny , John Wayne Is A Big Leggy and a few others. Shiny Shiny, although it did not chart as high as John Wayne, is probably their best known track. The group is fun and colorful to say the least, and consists of Jeremy Healy, Kate Garner and Paul Caplin. Way back when (in '83) they released their single Shiny Shiny along with a video too and in '83 [...]
I was planning on posting one more Star Wars LP, an audio story called Rebel Mission To Ord Mantell . However, it turns out you can get that right here . Why don't you just do that instead if you're interested in Star Wars? I'm more interested in posting some bloody music tonight. Winter. It sucks doesn't it? If you live in the Midwest (which is reason enough to be depressed), tonight you're probably bracing for your first big winter storm. That's never fun. And I don't know about you, but I've been reading [...]

Last Thursday former Spin and Blender and current Rolling Stone contributing editor Rob Sheffield was on Penn's campus reading selections from his new book Talking to Girls about Duran Duran and discussing such pop culture phenomena as Lady Gaga's meat dress, 80's one-hit wonder Haysi Fantayzee , and how Phoenix intentionally writes music that appeals to beautiful women. After his reading, Rob graciously sat down with WQHS DJ Elliot Rambach and talked about his experiences working in [...]
Why Are There Computers Week continues here at Hello Vegetables, so here's some more video! Usually when I see lip-synced performances from old TV shows it's pretty boring, but I could watch Haysi Fantayzee lip-sync "Shiny Shiny" a million times. And I could watch this part a billion million times: The sound sync is off on that one, though, so for the whole song try this un:

Ohhhh where do you even begin with Haysi Fantayzee? Well, actually once you see this picture and hear a couple of songs there really isn't that much left. I'm posting the regular version of "Shiny Shiny" because it's concise and gets the point across. My original plan, though, was to link to the Dance version as well. The Dance version is unreal - it's not as much a remix as it is an extension, keeping the song going until you feel like you've completely lost your marbles. As a friend said to me some [...]
