Ever since I was old enough to complain, my dad took great pleasure in the act of dragging my always-resistant ass to music festivals. A summer full of glorious music for him meant a summer full of unstifled groans from me. His taste in music back then - folk, folk, and nothing but folk - meant we hit folk festivals exclusively, and he wasn't shy about tackling the big, multi-day camp-out fests that separate the men from the meek. I have fond, fuzzy memories of trying to enjoy the Philadelphia Folk Festival and basically roasting alive under an angry sun [...]

I read Dante's Inferno when I was 12. Even at that age, despite being an advanced reader, near 700-year old Italian poetry can go over your head. The exposure to Dante's visionary ignited vivid ideas of what hell, heaven, and limbo look and feel like, which stick with me to this day. Having only read a third of the Divine Comedy describing hell, I assumed the other two. Limbo, to me, is a droll waiting room at a psychiatrist's office featuring cream colored walls, cheap off-brand chairs designed to help improve posture, an irritating ceiling fan, six year-old women's fitness magazines, and a [...]

During a recent conversation I had playfully discussing the kind of music that you would want to hear as you “die on the dancefloor”, we were mentioning a few bands, but none came as close to the harrowing, oft-brazen sounds of the latest from the Brooklyn trio, Yeasaye r . With their patented off-kilter percussion and saturated bass, they have created an album for the end-times, without much preamble. Their previous records- the freak-folk All Hour Cymbals , and the playful Odd Blood - poised them as an experimental, [...]

Christina Aguilera is pulling all the stops to make sure her next single is a hit. The single is allegedly set to debut on The Voice and be available on iTunes straight after. An insider has explained: "Hey guys! I was going to write my review first, but I have fresh tea for you guys! I went to the 3:30pm taping and my group was the last to leave the audience. This became a blessing in disguise because little did we know, our section was picked to be in the background for when Carson Daily announces the WORLD [...]

A scientific look at out-of-body experiences was presented on RadioLab many years ago and managed to stay out of my realm of knowledge until I heard it rebroadcast on NPR a few days ago. Read the article on Radio Lab Listen below to Dr. James Whinnery speaks about his research on the effects of g-forces on the brain's spatial awareness and ability to position itself. Through inducing blackouts under high-g environments we get a glimpse into the biology of the brain, and an interesting inside to OBEs without [...]

![Ro Blvd ft. Cali Cush – Summer Solstice [Music]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4412427_lg.jpg)
Our bro, Ro Blvd , is getting amped up to release his newest project Heart Pounding Panic . As we get close to August, Ro blesses us with a joint of the project titled, " Summer Solstice ," featuring Cali Cush . This track feels like Ro studied Cali Cush to make the perfect sounds to fit his flow. Summer Solstice is a definite winner and if this is any idea of how the entire project will sound, we are in store for something great.
