I featured this dreamy LA-based band once back in October of last year when they released their self-titled debut album. Since then, I had no clue what was going on, until yesterday that I got an email with their new video directed by Christopher Ewing & bundle of remixes that they've done for other bands. Grab the bundle right here & enjoy a couple of tunes below. "Our Younger Noise" | download [See post to listen to audio] [...]

The UK's brother-sister duo Arcade Eden, Lawrence and Clare Welling, sound like a funky amalgam of The Ting Tings and Crystal Castles. Their jam "Black Light" is set for a December 7th release. If you're in the mood for some deer antler disco balls and some high waisted sparkly shorts check them out. I just can't get over those sparkly shorts... is this a new trend? Am I morphing into a grandpa, overly concerned with dress of today's youth? Either way I'm eager to hear more from these two. [...]

![Hearts of Palm UK: I Flow [Video Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1719018_lg.jpg)
Awkwardness and surrealism have never worked better together than on the video for Hearts of Palm UK 's single "I Flow". This female trio performs their synth-heavy track over various mystical images via several green-screen transformations. The beautiful hilarity of these ladies acting so silly manages to uplift the single to an even more wonderfully appealing arrangement of catchy flows. For once, a video actually does sell the song. Hearts of Palm UK have been making quite a splash with their debut album For Life in tow. [...]

So we first heard Hearts of Palm UK (HOPUK) here in LA at Echoplex and we think it's about time we posted about their music. The three-member band is based in Los Angeles and writes rich synth-pop that is quite fitting for the pleasant weather always seen in sunny California. "Would You Believe:" Erika Elektra is plays keyboard and is the lead vocalist (also on keyboard, sequencer, omnichord, guitar and autoharp), while Frankie Rose is the on glockenspiel, miscellaneous percussion and keyboard, and Billy Kaye plays [...]

I don't know if I've said this before, but I'm a sucker for good bedroom electronic pop. I guess that's why California's Hearts Of Palm UK hooked me so quickly. Profuse organ melodies clothe the soft and engaging vocals of Erica Elektra. Their debut album, For Life ,was released this past October and was mastered in Sweden by Henrik Jonsson (Peter Bjorn & John, Robyn, The Knife, Lykke Li, Camera Obscura). For Life didn't wow me right away, but slowly skulked it's way into my favorites pile. mp3: Hearts Of Palm UK [...]
Hearts of Palm UK , not to be confused with Hearts of Palm, is an indie poptronica group that centers around the softy silk voice of Erica Elektra. You may be surprised to learn after listening to the tracks that all the songs were originally composed on guitar and then transformed into sweetened electronica using a Korg workstation. The tracks were mastered by Henrik Jonsson in Sweden, who also

L.A. chick pop-rock group Hearts of Palm UK has been flooding the blogosphere as of late with their incredibly catchy synth-pop meets Tegan and Sara-like melodies and a little bit of 80s goodness thrown in. Listen for yourselves. People & Logistics I Flow from For Life ( buy here )
Ironically, Hearts of Palm UK are not even from the UK at all and frankly would prefer not to discuss their mysterious band suffix with anyone. Our guess is there was already a band that had the rights to Hearts Of Palm. Anyone remember the days of Mr. Stefani's Canadian band BushX? Name conspiracies aside, sticking with today's electro-pop theme , Hearts Of Palm UK channel Madonna through the chops of three hard working indie musicians. Erica Elektra (vocals, keyboard, guitar), Frankie Rose (glockenspiel, keyboard, percussion) and Billy Kaye (cello, autoharp, keyboard) have built a [...]
Congrats to Shiloe on the release of their new EP "...And Now The Screaming Starts". Be sure to pick up a copy and check out interviews with the band here and here... Earlier on Sunday, we stopped by Tangier for a great night of steak and standards. Inara George and Greg Kurstin's "Gimme A Steak Cocktail Hour" brought out a crowd of friends that included members of Rilo Kiley, Obi Best, Karen O.

The Make Out Room will be holding an awesome showcase of great sounds this Friday, October 17th. The Music Lovers ( Feature Podcast ) will be headlining the show to wail the shimmering sound of true lounge, class and romance with the smooth voice of Ted Edwards. The band's third full length Masculine Feminine comes out in November. Along for the ride are Hot Pink Feathers , who are bringing their award winning burlesque samba for a show not to be missed. [...]

Hearts of Palm UK , is that girl that introduces herself to you under the wrong name at a party, but through perseverance, wit and charm you will find out on the third or fourth date. I say this because their name itself is something of a red herring, they are from Echo Park, California. That's pretty far from the UK. Either way, the female electro-pop brandishing trio fires off some touching and danceable tracks on their debut album "For Life". Songwriter Erica Elektra originally wrote the album on her acoustic guitar, and fantasized about remixing it [...]

Download: Hearts of Palm UK - "I Flow" Download : Hearts of Palm UK - "People & Logistics" Hearts of Palm UK aren't from the British isles, as their name might indicate. In fact, these three electro-pop lasses hail from California, specifically, a Los Angeles suburb called Echo Park. Their music happens to be have enough echo-y, synth-heavy touches to fill an entire park, but on new song "I Flow", the mood is anything but sunny. This despite the fact that the great Cali sky is [...]

The gals have been keeping busy, they got a full-page "Buzz Band" feature in the L.A. Times , read below: Everything about electro-pop trio Hearts of Palm U.K. seems a little coy, except the music. The group hails from Echo Park, not England (keeping the “U.K.” appellation draped in mystery), and isn’t even a band but more a project of songwriter Erica Elektra — whose surname, of course, is merely something she adopted after almost being electrocuted while playing bass in the basement of her New York City apartment. Friends Frankie Rose and [...]
