As the weather gets hotter, so does the proverbial temperature of a given week's outpouring of fresh singles. With that said, now that we're not quite one month out from the summer solstice, this past sennight was of a pleasant prolificacy and quality, featuring appearances from DOOM, Rick Ross, Nicolas Jaar, Childish Gambino, YACHT, and more, plus the first posthumous number from Whitney Houston. As per always, we wish you well with the following 10-piece. -Mike Madden Staff Writer Childish Gambino Feat. Heems - "Tell Me" [...]

Still no word on a release date for Childish Gambino's upcoming mixtape, but these great cuts from it keep trickling in. This one features Heems from Das Racist; it's every bit as incredible as that pairing suggests. Stream "Tell Me" at Pigeons and Planes

You can see the progression in Childish Gambino's music from track to track. "Tell Me" is no exception. Donald Glover brings a much more relaxed and natural flow than what listeners have heard on the majority of his past tracks. For "Tell Me", Gambino brings in Heems of Das Racist for the assist and the rappers trade a few verses. Childish Gambino: "Tell Me" ft. Heems

Hot damn. Childish Gambino has another track from his new mixtape up on the wordwide web via RapRadar . The track is called "Tell Me" and features Das Racist 's Heems . I personally ain't going to complain at new material from Donny and am very much looking forward to the full mixtape when it drops. In case you missed it we've previously got to enjoy the ScHoolboy Q featuring " Unnecessary " along with " We Ain't Them ". [...]
With the news that creator Dan Harmon is fired from Community , it makes sense for that show's actors to look for other things to do with their lives. Donald Glover was already pretty active with his nerd-rap alter-ego Childish Gambino, but he's been getting even busier with it lately, working on a new mixtape that seems to feature just about everyone cool in rap this minute. We've already heard the Schoolboy Q collab " Unnecessary ," and now he's teamed up with Das Racist's Heems for the second time. (He also showed up on Himanshu's [...]

It's a radio rip, but you get the idea.

Photo by Heather Kaplan Hey, it's another new track from Childish Gambino . This one is called "Tell Me" and features Das Racist's Heems . Listen to a radio rip at RapRadar . For those counting, this marks the third new song from Childish Gambino in as many weeks. If you haven't already, check out "Unnecessary" featuring ScHoolboy Q and "We Ain't Them" .

"Tell Me" is the latest in the string of recent Childish Gambino tracks that show Glover honing his craft (see also: "Unnecessary" with ScHoolboy Q and "We Ain't Like Them" ). He's once again brought in a superior rapper to associate himself with, this time Das Racist 's incorrigible MC Heems (his 2012 mixtape Nehru Jackets ranks among our favorite releases of the year). Throw these two over a great maximalist, [...]

Despite the fact that it's a radio rip, this new Childish Gambino cut featuring Heems titled "Tell Me" is sounding like a very solid effort. CG's been dropping songs randomly left and right, and judging from these last few he's let loose (" We Ain't Them ," " Unnecessary "), it appears as if he's attempting to move past Camp and into a new direction. We're interested to see where it all goes, and Das Racist and TDE collaborations are just another reason to keep eyes locked on Donald Glover. [...]
Ever since I caught New York MC Mayhem Lauren's last album, Self Induced Illness , I've been crossing my fingers in hopes that great things will come to this guy. His old school delivery, heavy voice, and gritty personality are exactly what I look for in hip hop like this. Surprisingly, his cohort Action Bronson has been doing a lot better when it comes to popularity, but maybe 2012 is Lauren's year. This cosign from Das Racist's Heems might help. This punchy beat from Harry Fraud couldn't hurt either. From what I understand, this track [...]

Serious Lo-Life hailing from Queens, Meyhem Lauren is getting ready to put out his free EP, Respect the Fly Shit , later this month. And to get anyone who isn't excited already with that news, he released a track with fellow Outdoorsmen, Action Bronson aka Bam Bam aka Bronsoliño, and Heems of Das Racist. And who else is on the beat but Harry Fraud. I still haven't heard a beat from Harry Fraud I didn't immediately jam with. By the way, where's that Cigarette Boats project with Curren$y, Mr. Fraud? Party [...]

First, New York starts to love rap again. Then New York rappers start to love each other again. Then we get shit like this. This is the first leak off Mayhem Lauren 's Respect the Fly Shit , recorded at SXSW (in the Embassy Suites, Room 243 to be exact according to Dante ), follows a simple formula: dope rhymes + dope beats [...]
Ishmael Butler, more well-known around the internet as the headman of super-indie rap act Shabazz Palaces , recently remixed Lushlife 's "Hale-Bopp was the Bedouins." The new cut is pretty deconstructed, altering the original Gang Gang Dance and Heems samples in the song with Butler's usual off brand takes. Listen to the awesome remix below.
Lushlife has continued to penetrate the indie music scene today, as he enlists Shabazz Palaces to remix his Heems -assisted single, "Bopp Was The Bedouins". Along with some spacey beat reduction from the left-field rap duo, we also get guest vocal additions from The Palaceer, Fly Guy Dai, and Thadillac. The original version of the song is also streamable below and can be captured on Lushlife's most recent solo record, Plateau Vision .

Shabazz Palaces has taken to Lushlife's "Hale-Bopp Was The Bedouins" featuring Heems of Das Racist and chopped it up into some real crazy and trippy shit. The remix also features vocal assists by The Palaceer, Fly Guy Dai, and Thadillac. The original track is off of Lushlife's Plateau Vision LP. The Philly native is currently on tour with Cities Aviv with upcoming tour dates below. {REQ FILLED}: Here's that internationally-and-universall y-informed intergalactic remix carrying the future's past to the present you asked for. It's marked and coming right at all of us on a Monday, filled with artists we ride for here - Seattle's own Shabazz Palaces remixing a track by Philly mastermind Lushlife which features New York City's own Heems . The proper title would have been murder on my feed, but it's actual proper title is "Hale-Bopp was the Bedouins (Shabazz Palaces Remix feat the palaceer, fly guy Dai and Thadillac mixed by Blood [...]

Shabazz Palaces throw down their warped, futuristic murk over the new Heems -assisted single from Philly's Lushlife on this mind-bending new remix, featuring a revelatory verse from the head Palaceer himself. Check the Shabazz-appropriate title: " Hale-Bopp was the Bedouins (Shabazz Palaces remix feat the palaceer, fly guy Dai and Thadillac. mixed by Blood in palaGlow) ." The original version, which can also be heard below, appears on Lushlife's new record Plateau Vision , out now on Western Vinyl :
Shit's about to get weird. Kool A.D. fresh off of releasing 51 , a 22-track mixtape , puts together some crazy visuals for "La Piñata." He sports a camouflaged jacket, Oakland A's hat and counts singles, throws singles, clubs a piñata -that's just the start. It's not a party unless Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire and Heems make a cameo appearance, which they do. And they're all drinking 40s and smoking. It's crazy. If you're into Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood samples, live chickens and just dope rhymes this video will serve you well.
