Stemmige klanken voor een verregende zomer Heirlooms of August - wat is dat toch een onmogelijke bandnaam. Ik zou achter een dergelijke naam een symfonische band verwachten. Of iets in de gothic-hoek. Maar nee, de man achter Heirlooms of August is Jerry Vessel. Jesse speelde in de Red House Painters en maakte ook deel uit van de live-uitvoering van Sun Kil Moon . Al die jaren aan de zijde van Mark Kozelek hebben hun sporen nagelaten op het debuut van Heirlooms of August. Forever The Moon is somber en introspectief als het beste werk van Kozelek.
