This comp is incredible, one of the best I've heard this year... drifts through some pleasing skewerdelic joys, snapshots a vibrate counter culture that has been rippling through Belgium (particularly Antwerp) for some time now... Only familiar with a few, like Silvester Anfang's Hellvete and of course Ultra Eczema's Vom Grill , however, the rest are totally new adventures... Mysterious strangers taking me through plenty of kosmical neu-infused harmonics and haunting shamanics... We blijven nog even in België. Het is inmiddels alweer een tijdje geleden dat ik op mrbungle.nl in de muziek van Silvester Anfang ben gedoken. Nog niet zo lang geleden vond er een zogenaamde "Vlaamse avond" plaats in Middelburg. Het programma bood helaas niet de door mij graag geziene Edgar Wappenhalter, Urpf Lanze of Hellvete. Daardoor moet ik achteraf schaamtevol bekennen dat ik de hele Europese tournee van dit illustere drietal aan mij voorbij heb moeten laten gaan. Recentelijk mocht ik de EP Florine van Julianna Barwick aan mijn collectie toevoegen. Spijt heb ik daar allerminst van. Julianna Barwick komt uit Brooklyn en is opgegroeid met de Christelijke kerk en de daarbij behorende a capella zang, iets wat als een rode draad door haar muziek loopt. Barwick laat op goddelijke wijze haar prachtige stem en allerhande elektronische instrumenten (zoals looppedalen, piano en keyboard) samensmelten tot een paradijselijk geheel.
