If White Lies have come up with one of the greatest rock albums this year as I mentioned in the post about White Lies a while ago. Then Filthy Dukes probably has made one of the greatest synth electro albums of 2009. "Nonsense In The Dark" was the right thing already after the first listening. It is catchy and it makes you wanna dance. It's a good mix of all different kind of tunes with different guest artists such as Tommy Sparks who is doing the vocals on their latest [...]

By now you've probably heard of Filthy Dukes. Remixes of their tunes are bouncing around all over the place. But they're also the founders of Fabric's legendary 'Kill Em All' night - proudly offering up the best-of-the-best in rocky electro noise, with the like of Justice, Erol and Chemical Brothers gracing their decks. Filthy Dukes started off as promoters, then DJs , and now a three-piece indie- electro band. Their current single This Rhythm featured on You Can Call Me Pelski a year ago in [...]

There's good reason why Brooklyn-based Heloise & The Savoir Faire have been described by Disorder Magazine as a "multi-orgasmic experience with heels on". Their live act takes you straight down the 'Solid Gold' days of spandex, disco and dance, with two high motion moving bodies flanked on either side of front woman, Heloise Williams. Packed with sickly-sweet 70's disco rock, their debut LP, "Trash, Rats, and Microphones," released Spring 2008, is sure to leave you feeling like glittery gold. Signed to actor Elijah Woods' label, Simian Records , H&TSF have just released a [...]

Filthy Dukes - "This Rhythm" New dark and twisted video for the Filthy Dukes new single - "This Rhythm." That girl gives the Grudge girl some serious competition... "The Rhythm" features Samuel Dust from Late Of The Pier on guest vocals. Pretty hot. The single is out March 9th with remixes from Fred Falke, Emperor Machine, Toddla T and Kill Em All. Their debut album will be following shortly after on March 16th! And of course Filthy Dukes have been busy remixing too. Here's their lastest for Heloise & [...]

Wednesday night was only my second time seeing a show at Music Hall of Williamsburg (withold your scoffs), and my first time seeing The Teenagers at a real concert venue. Lissy Trullie and the Fibs opened the show, an artist whose live performances have gotten better and better each time I've seen her. Last month she rocked Santo's alongside Adam Green, The Rumble Strips, and Mark Ronson and even attracted celebrities such as Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr of Gossip Girl fame. Next up was Brooklyn's Heloise and the Savior Faire . Before the show, [...]
Monday: Glass Ghost @ Glasslands 9pm $6 Following a nice, long holiday weekend I'm sure a lot of you will be looking to get back into the show going right away on Monday night. Unfortunately there isn't too much going on, but there is this show at Glasslands. Glass Ghost is a new side project from Eliot Krimsky of the awesome band Flying. I've only checked out their Myspace so far but based on that and the reputation of Flying I'd have to say that they're definitely worth taking a chance on. [...]

Heloise and the Savoir Faire "Po' T" - At the start of this song, Heloise stumbles upon a familiar face from her past, and goes on to reminisce about a night of escalating sexual tension from back when she was a somewhat rebellious 17 year old, and he was a gun-toting southern roughneck who answered to the name "Po' T." The arrangement carries us through her shifting levels of nervousness and excitement, starting us out on shaky footing when she re-introduces herself to him, and moving on to approximate her thrill at revisiting the good times [...]
