Well, I was going to see Vetiver at Spaceland until I realized that my last paycheck was hampered by my having taken days off, and I have no money until an advertising check arrives sometime this coming week. What will I do until then? Well, not much. Today I went to work and had enough money to eat one yogurt and one bagel. Dinner was a box of Crispix I've kept around the house for emergency hunger situations for about the past year. Those year-old Crispix sure don't taste very good anymore. So, what are my [...]
Yeah, I know that the categories widget in the right side-bar says that there have already been 187 or 188 Sunday Mix Tapes, but this is number 185. I'm sure of it. Maybe the others weren't official SMTs, because maybe I didn't post them on a Sunday! Did you ever think about that, asshole? Well, think about it, then. I'm perfectly fine just sitting here and waiting for you to finish thinking. I don't have anywhere to be until tomorrow morning. Then I have to work. Ugh. I hate my life. RULES for uninitiated noobs : [...]

Spoilers Ahead : If you are not currently up to speed on all this LOST stuff - that is, if you have not completed Season 6 Episode 3 - you will not want to read the following passage, as I will pontificate and spoil many things for you. Anyone who did not like last night's episode is crazy. It might have moved slowly at parts, but last night LOST season six announced it's arrival. This is not to be a catastrophe like the start of season three, nor is it going to be balls-to-the-wall [...]
Last night Nic and I consumed what will inevitably go down as a top ten Los Angeles burger. The "Dry Age Burger" at Oaks Gourmet Market on the border of Hollywood and Los Feliz is quite good. Theirs is (obviously) dry-aged, topped with Taleggio cheese, smoked bacon and a sweet-tasting jalapeno-pineapple compote. I don't know if it will crack the top five, but it will be close. I still have at least three more hamburgers to taste that have won "Best of LA" honors on other blogs. Then I have to begin the process of re-eating most of the finalists [...]
• It's a miracle! A revelation! A new study shows that record labels have to - get this - lower music prices in order to increase profits. How come nobody has thought of that before? What a novel idea. People complain for, like, a decade that physical media is overpriced, and now "experts" have decided that the path to profit includes a decrease in price. Now, what are the odds that - when presented with the results of the study - anyone in the music industry is going to consider lowering prices. Don't bother guessing. It's [...]

We praten [...]

There was no longer any reason why a man-carrying vehicle to cross space needed to be small, cramped and penurious of weight. Once antigravity was an engineering reality, if was no longer necessary to design ships specially for space travel, for neither mass nor aerodynamic lines meant anything any more. The most massive and awkward object could be lifted and hurled off the Earth and carried almost any distance. Whole cities, if necessary, could be moved. -- James Blish Satwa - Can [...]
