You mightn't notice the force in this one initially but inside Her Magic Wand's 'Mistakes' li a strong beating heart. Perhaps it's because they come for Paris, perhaps not but this little tune is not to be underestimated. It came out last year on the 'Catch A Rainbow' EP and is very reminiscent of hugger faves Slushco from Atlanta. Nothing like some dreamy pop to start your no longer dreamy day off, am I right? Her Magic Wand, a one-man project out of Paris, France, is equal parts smooth and sugary, with a pinch of a darker undertone. This is some mighty fine electronic pop - reminiscent of Letting Up Despite Great Faults, but slightly rougher. Spätestens seit Postal Service erfreut sich das (neue?) Genre der Lofi-Indietronica ja doch einer ziemlichen Beliebtheit. Und so dürfte auch Her Magic Wand , ein Ein-Mann-Projekt, das ursprünglich aus New York stammt, auf offene Ohren stoßen, denn zartschmelzende Melodien und pluckernde Synthies fügen sich nahtlos in den Klangkosmos zwischen Plushgun und Faded Paper Figures ein.
