With tonight's Bassnectar and Limp Bizkit shows sold out, and John Medeski's World Cafe Live show postponed until next December, it makes tonight's pick pretty easy. Chicago’s folk hero Joe Pug plays a 21+ show at Johnny Brenda’s tonight, along with one of our most favorite local singer-songwriters Hezekiah Jones . Joe Pug plays a brand of folk with a Dylanesque focus on lyrical content, and Hezekiah Jones has his own unique style of story-telling. Go here for tickets to the show. Hezekiah Jones at World Cafe Live (7/13/12) If you wanted to see a great show you should have been at World Cafe Live (downstairs) this past Friday. Griz (Chris Grunwald and band) was the opening act. Grunwald and fellow bandmates filled the venue with infectious reggae-esque/pop/folk style music. The set included material from The Secret In The Garden – Griz’s current release.   For most of the audience, Griz’s set provided the perfect warm-up to a night full of dancing.
