A couple of kosmische ditty's to get us underway in October; Splendid debut release from Goitia Deitz , a mysterious production duo from Brooklyn, NYC to alert you to first. 'Romance/Coma' is out on Disc Error recordings : 'Their recorded experiments in minimal electronics hint towards an extensive record collection and a shared bonding over their love of Krautrock , Kosmische & Italo . All tracks are produced on analog equipment recorded live in one take. Nothing is pre- planned or [...]

Sirs, I got a hell of a kick reading the piece Altered Zones magazine did this week on XXJFG. In addition to wishing you the best of luck, I'd also like to offer my services. Since I haven't seen a copy of the "new" XXJFG yet, I'll have to make this a tentative offer. I stepped into a dung-hole the last time I took a job with a blog I didn't know anything about (see enclosed clippings) and I'm not quite ready to go charging up another blind alley. By the time [...]

Our favorite cosmic Londoners are back with some sweet new sounds to share; Higamos Hogamos are Steve Webster & Toby Jenkins and together they create a fantastic psychedelic fanfare. We've had them on these pages before, this time we feature their new release 'Atomized Pt II' which is available now through their Bandcamp page. Here we feature 'The Singularity' described thus: 'My Travel/ The Singularity' could be an imagined musical meeting between 'Can' and 'Tangerine Dream'. Higamos Hogamos- The Singularity

denmark, home to legoland and vikings... and oh no ono , a cleverly fiendish indie psych four piece filled with un-speakable names (yeah im looking at you aske zidore). don't know where they came from, what they are planning to do nor what they look like but they have on the other hand whipped up an assorted ep 'Internet Warrior' with not only hype-bot peoples like Caribou and Phenomenal Handclap Band but these obscure types like Higamos Hogamos and Zambri? anywho's the cut of my jib is it's good, it's different and it's something you [...]

Now sadly defunct, DC Records always had a certain set of ideals. Be it their sound, artwork, videos, whatever - you always knew what you were getting was quality. We loved them so much Marcus lost his eardrums to them at one of their Corsica Studio events! Now out on their own, Higamos Hogamos are rising phoenix-like from the ashes with a new long player which holds true to the psychedelic ideals set by their former label. Decribed as "cosmic funky slop" it recalls such greats as Can, Parliament, Zappa, Cluster, Material, Ashra and Eno. Check their new [...]

Higamos Hogamos return with another dose of psychedelia and motorik by way of new mini-album Sorcery . This is the first release on their own 'H.H.' imprint coming after the death of their old label, the fine DC Recordings. Listen to some teasers from the new record here. http://www.higamoshogamos.com/

Higamos Hogamos continue their cosmic odysseys with the first of two scheduled releases for All Time Low Productions . Grab the 'Sorcery' EP whilst you can, have a gander at the title track. Well spesh: Higamos Hogamos- Sorcery (Version) (Download) When a DJ of Ivan Smagghe's stature leaves a 150 word reaction waxing lyrical about a record ( Geoffroy Aka Mugwump's 'Congregation of Discarded Clerks') you know it's gonna be something a little bit special: "There is a very very special [...]

To make up for a lack of consistency in the staggering of recent shows (i.e. I've been busy/away and couldn't do one). I've compiled an hour long behemoth stuffed with more good music than a school play starring nothing but the artificially inseminated offspring of Muddy Waters' and Ella Fitzgerald. Yacht: The coolest floatation device I know Discovery - Swing Tree Yacht - Summer Song Delorean - Deli Fleetwood Mac - Never Go Back Again The Coasters - Down in Mexico [...]

Laverne And Shirley Here's another pys-nu-disco post for you. The emperor machine , Andy Meecham, has been putting out psychdelic cosmic music since the turn of the century. His new material is quite encouraging and I think he's really hitting his stride. He has an album recently out on titled Space Beyond the Egg . His new works are a bit more catchy and more often incorporate vocal samples (his previous stuff was purely instrumental). Additonally the vintage feel has really been done right with a much appreciated disco undertone. The [...]

Deerhunter's new five-song EP "Rainwater Cassette Exchange" will arrive digitally on May 18 (in stores June 8) and features some of their most accessible tunes yet. Entertainment Weekly has the inside scoop , along with a little history behind each song from frontman Bradford Cox. On "Circulation": "Moses [Archuleta], our drummer, wrote that song, and he's never written a song before. We had our friend make this weird video collage that we took the audio from for the outro. It sounds like a Magazine song or something." Deerhunter - "Circulation" [...]

I had a listen of the self titled Higamos Hogamos album over the weekend and was into it. The mixture of instrumentals and poppier dance tracks is a good variety. It's sort of like the better half of LCD Soundsystem instrumentals mixed with Caribou's psychedelic wanderings. The album is out now on D.C recordings. Have a listen to these tracks... Radio comes on: Faust?! Yeah, if Faust had snorted an eight ball and shotgunned a six pack of Red Bull. Higamos Hogamos debut LP (s/t) was released almost a month ago on DC Recordings , and, once again, I'm behind the curve. Dosen't matter, a tune this good, I'm just happy to have found it. Their album is so conflicted, ranging from the depths of Kraut to funky disco break beats. Not much to be said in thier vocals, but try not to get lost in the instrumental madness. "Major Blitzkreig", one of my favs on the [...]

I am becoming ever such a little bit fatigued by the current glut of Kraut rock inflected material that is being released from the indie rock and dance music world. It's not that Kraut rock is bad music, far from it, it just seems a bit too trendy at the moment to channel the likes of Faust , Neu !, La Dusseldorf et al. However, when it is done well does this really matter? To be honest: probably not. So with that in mind I am listening to a new offering from the reputed UK [...]

- Frequenze's Library: Random Choices - Can - Spoon (Sonic Youth mix) 1972 David Bowie - Moonage Daydream (leo zero ext. remix) 1971 Harold Alexander - Mama Soul (ext. version) 1971 Higamos Hogamos - Infinity Plus One 2009

Higamos Hogamos. [...]

Finally something new to be excited about! I heard this some time ago, but it didn´t catch on until now. Give it time and the 60´s-ish sound of Higamos Hogamos will envelope you too. MP3 Higamos Hogamos - Major Blizkrieg ( Alt. Link )

OK, this is a warning... You must sample/play/download/lick/fuck /etc. every song/edit/rmx that I have put into this post as it's all gold. News wise... we now have Twitter so follow us on that bad boy. I think it's social internet v3 or some shit so we may as well embrace it and not live like a dinosaur under a rock. Since this post is going to be massive, I'm going to keep the talking to a minimum, and the tunes to a maximum. RAWRRRRRR! Aeroplane are my favourite cosmic-goodness producers [...]

Love is when you wake up in the morning and you no longer feel alone. Love is when you wake up in the morning and you know tomorrow will be okay; in fact, it'll be better than yesterday and better than today. Better in the sense that the inner warmth that we radiate will shine brighter and stronger than ever before. Meetings of chance happen rarely, i'd say very rarely, meeting the other 88dayer was by chance, meeting a new love was total chance, someone, somewhere, good quality balsamic is on it's way over. I miss her pixie features when [...]
