![High Powered Boys – Girly (Sleepy Tom Edit) [mp3]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4474532_lg.jpg)
This is definitely my favourite edit of Girly. It's powerful, there are tons of unique elements, and best of all he doesn't over-do it with the vocal sample. Do you guys remember Sleepy Tom ? He's the Vancouver producer who did that remix of Fur Trade's Don't Get Heavy about a month ago. Anyway, enjoy the track - Ziad No related posts.

Friday's Girls & Boys party at Webster Hall has to be one of the more anticipated iterations of the weekly event in recent memory. Known for its eclectic and highly compelling billings, the long-running fiesta continuously attracts the finest talent in dance music. With young Aussie Walden making his US/NYC debut and French Surkin coming back to the hallowed halls after having a series of visa issues that marred past dates, so suffice to say that everyone was ready for this show to go off with out a hitch. Walden [...]
High Powered Boys - Streetwise (stream) [...]

Surkin and Bobmo have outdid themselves again. This EP is dope as hell, with The Bim Bam Song being the biggest vitamin on this one. Call it what you want, electro, ghetto house, whatever, it's meant to put the obscene to the forefront, tossing aside any kind of sweetness. Consume with care. High Powered Boys - The Bim Bam Song [...]

This is what I've been saying all these years! Surkin and Bobmo have the ability to produce some wicked house beats, reminiscent of Chicago kind of house beats. Their Streetwise EP is full of addictive chords and energy questionably absent in Surkin's USA. Nonetheless, each song on the EP will satisfy every sort of househeads' palate. I noticed a lot of samples from vintage house songs and the single from the album with the same title, Streetwise , possibly inadvertently fuses house and dub step. Maybe a little. Nonetheless, a stellar five songs from the duo. [...]

High Powered Boys is the brainchild of French wonder producers Surkin and Bobmo , they just dropped their long awaited release "Streetwise" on Marble and it's a wicked beast. "There’s some brand new product coming out from the Marble Studios. Surkin and Bobmo, as the infamous High Powered Boys, just had five hot units churned out from their track plant, packaged together as an EP called "Streetwise". And this sure comes from the street, but this is more about the proper streets here: concrete grounds, glass buildings, traffic lights, [...]

The discussion in regards to the judging criteria for this chart was a bigger process than putting together the chart itself. How do you weigh commercial success against production value? We tended to shy away from this year's trends and focus on quality behind the mixing desk. This list isn't to be viewed so much as our take on which songs were the most impactful in 2011 but more so as a countdown of the tracks that will continue to influence the soundscape and look forward to shape the sounds of 2012 and beyond. We look forward to your insight [...]

So, it's that time of year. 2011 has seen many interesting developments in dance music. For starters, it now fills the charts, with Guetta's new album plastered all over the top 40, again... Skrillex now seems to be regarded as the best thing since sliced bread, with 5 grammy nominations. Justice have returned, eventually, their album having a different kind of look, some may call it prog. rock, nonetheless it's a very enjoyable listen. My tip for next year? Garage. This genre has seen somewhat of a comeback in 2011, with MJ Cole producing and remixing Wretch 32 [...]
