If you follow the site, you'll recognize this as something Xaphoon Jones has sampled twice. Once in Big Sean's "Too Fake", and once in Chiddy Bang's most recent "Too Much Soul" off Peanut Butter & Swelly. Guess he's a fan of Hockey. This time around, RAC gives it the remix treatment, and at this point I expect nothing less than gold when I see their name associated with anything. This one delivers. Check it out for yourself below. Download: Hockey - Too Fake (RAC Remix) [via]
RAC remixes "Too Fake" by Hockey - a wonderful summer tune.

Since exploding on the blogosphere with their clever MGMT/ "Kids" re-work "Opposites of Adults" in 2009, Philly duo Chiddy Bang have consistently strengthened their promise in becoming the next major mainstream success to break out from Web fame, their brand of alternative rap, buoyed by Hype Machine-friendly indie-pop samples and an infectious young adult ebullience, coming across perfectly suited for placement alongside the Rihanna's and Black Eyed Peas's of the Top 40 playlist world. Further guaranteeing their future ubiquitousness in the overground world is the group's latest mixtape [...]

And yes, Finland lost her marbles due to the hockey world championship win yesterday. Today should be a day off all over! We good.
Alright, shameless plug here. I know that many of you do not follow hockey as much as I do,...

Usually a live keyboardist for indie pop group Hockey, Ryan Dolliver decided to begin trialling his own material; this EP being the product of recording in California. Going under the name The Neighborhood, this self titled release contains six tracks of lo-fi heaven; raw, synth laden and a painstakingly honest sounding. There's the slightly more up tempo tracks like We Make The Same, coming in somewhere between The Cure and The Drums; the majority of it centered around hazy vocals and a tinkling piano. Then there's one of the EP highlights Drive, a Twin Shadow-esque synth heavy number, [...]

The Neighborhood // The Neighborhood Creating music under the name The Neighborhood , Portland resident Ryan Dolliver makes old sounds seem fresh on his self-titled cassette. While traveling the country playing keyboards for the band Hockey , Ryan wrote over thirty tracks. He then moved to Los Angeles and out of all that material came this haunting six-song cassette. I've been sitting here at my computer listening to this cassette nonstop for over an hour while I quietly finish some art projects. Every time the last songs [...]

What in the hell was Patrice Bergeron doing there? Principally, you don't chase a man behind the net. You cut the angle and pick him up on the opposite side. Worst case, he flips the script and a backchecker picks him up on the backside. I've had that conversation with squirts for Christ's sake. Second, he was lucky not to get a slashing penalty. Third, if you're gonna slash that dude, keep your stick around his knees. Completely inexcusable. That goal is on him, no questions asked. That said, I'm [...]

Hockey - Too Fake (RAC Remix) Big Sean - Too Fake (ft. Chiddy Bang) Guessing you guys have mostly heard Big Sean's "Too Fake" off Finally Famous Volume 3 . Xaphoon Jones sampled Hockey's "Too Fake." We've been enamored with R.A.C. 's remixes for quite a while and this one definitely warrants posting. - Hockey: Facebook. | Twitter. R.A.C.: Facebook. | Twitter. drink the kool-aid:

Sem demora, comecei a fazer o Friday Mixes de hoje meio desanimado, mas achei algumas pérolas no caminho. O set ficou com uma vibe meio anos 80, mas com um toque bem atual. Os maiores destaques são os bombásticos remixes da Ke$ha e do David Guetta , pra "Sexy Bitch". Como expliquei, enquanto as música já sejam um tanto quanto "babadas", vai ser difícil conter o sorriso no rosto ao ouvir essas novas versões. Escuta aí que vocês vão entender. . Ke$ha - We R Who We [...]
On Christmas weekend, The Orchard's NYC HQ was slammed with 20 inches of snow. As I surveyed my snowed-in car with a shovel, a cranky neighbor crowed, "well I used to live in Vermont. This ain't nothin'." You know who else lives in Vermont? The Orchard's James Kochalka, awesome comic ...

Big Sean kills it with "Too Fake," the highlight off the Detroit emcee's final mixtape of his trilogy, Finally Famous Vol. 3. Philly based Chiddy Bang (Chiddy and Xaphoon Jones) provide the beat and third verse while the chorus is sampled from Hockey's single, " Too Fake ." Sean delivers a performance with more swagger than most guys [...]

Between the Northern & Southern Stages [ Lollapalooza has rocked Chicago for six straight years as the reincarnation of a '90s music festival founded by Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell. Last weekend, Chi-town native Marisa Ptak soaked in Lollapalooza 2010: three days of music, heat, rain, and fashion. Below, her dispatch from the festival, with enough new tunes to last the rest of the summer.] FRIDAY - Day 1 - Get your [...]

Here's a nice little ditty about Puck Bunnies from someone named Tally Deushane. It's a nice pleasant tune about hockey groupies. I stole this from Puck Daddy , a hockey blog on yahoo. Pleasant little tune, but my favorite hockey related youtube music video of all time is still Bloge Salming's Felt like 93 music video:

Deep in the heart of Texas, a fun new wave-esque band called Wild Party has designs of causing a few ripples in what we call the "indie music scene". Comparison to the Killers (Fillers) and the Strokes have been tossed the band's way but in my opinion, this band has a little something else going on. Listening to the band's debut single Take My Advice, the comparison to the Killers does hold some weight although it must be said that this single is infinitely better than the best song The Killers have written to date. One can most [...]
We're on the eve of the opening night for the greatest sport on Earth: hockey. So what better way to celebrate than with a look at the greatest hockey songs of all-time. Unless otherwise indicated, you can hear each of these tracks on the MOG playlist I've assembled here. Enjoy! Kathleen Edwards "Hockey Skates" One of the great uses of hockey is as a metaphor for relationships. In this case
