Portland, OR band Hockey is hitting the pavement once again in support of their debut album Mind Chaos . The quartet had a big 2009 and toured nonstop around the globe. They show no signs of stopping as they head back to the U.S. for a tour that kicks off on March 11 in Minneapolis, MN following a month long stint in Japan, New Zealand, Australia and Europe. Hockey have been a busy band ever since the release of their debut album, Mind Chaos , last year. The new year doesn't show any signs of the band slowing down with a few US tour dates before jetting off overseas. I don't know about you but 2009 was the year I fell in live with remixes. Starting TBE opened up my world to so many amazing reinterpretations of both great and not so great songs. Having always been more of a cover song guy this was new territory for me but I dove in headfirst and have been enjoying the ride so far. Good music is a personal thing and messing with great music is even more so. This is very much a subjective list and is based on nothing besides how much I love and respect the work done. [...]

Celt-punks and proud Bostonians Dropkick Murphys are also huge hockey fans. That's why it's great to hear that they will be playing the NHL's third annual Winter Classic outdoor game today. This year's game between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers takes place at Fenway Park in Boston. The band will be playing prior to the game and during the intermissions. The super-prolific Remix Artist Collective have contributed to the festive season nicely with their mini-compilation 'Volume 1.5'. Featuring four brand new remixes, the Portuguese-Dutch-American project have provided a handful of great new tracks. In remixing Gossip's 'Heavy Cross' they are joining the heavyweights, with Yuksek, Siriusmo and serial producer extraordinaire Fred Falke having already had a pop. Although, I actually prefer the Burns remix to all those. That was until this beautiful little RAC remix came along. It adds a delightfully poppy melody to that infectious acapella, resulting in a B-side standard indie-ish dancefloor [...]
