LARS ULRICH & SKYLAR SATENSTEIN Fun fact: Skylar also dated Matt Damon, and was the basis for the character of the same name in the movie Good Will Hunting. PHIL ANSELMO & STEPHANIE OAPAL WEINSTEIN Fun fact: Despite popular belief, Eyehategod's Mike Williams was not also married to Phil and Stephanie that day. DAVE MUSTAINE [...]
We greeted the prospect of listening to Oceania , the new album by Billy Corgan and some people who he's calling Smashing Pumpkins, with the same trepidation shown by pretty much everyone else who grew up in the 1990s. Quite why Corgan insists on calling his band Smashing Pumpkins these days is unclear — when the classic line-up of that band split in 2000, Corgan formed a new band under a new name — but he chose to exhume it in 2006, and with the departure of Jimmy Chamberlin in 2009, he's the only remaining original member. [...]

It's hard to believe that drum'n'bass duo Delta Heavy have only been on the scene for three years. In what was an explosive debut on Viper Recordings back in 2009, Delta Heavy's tune Galaxy immediately turned the heads of the biggest DJs in d'n'b. After only two releases on the Viper, DH's undeniable talent caught the attention of RAM Records , who immediately signed the duo to an exclusive deal. Since signing to RAM, DH has remixed huge tunes from Avicii and Nero , and has quickly [...]

They say music moves in 20-year cycles, and the surfeit of '90s-influenced bands on the scene at the moment seems to suggest that maybe they're right (whoever "they" are.) It also seems that there are plenty of original '90s bands playing at the moment, both renascent (Garbage, Pulp) those who never went away (Pearl Jam, for instance), or those who have no right to actually exist either way and are yet somehow touring together . Anyway, with all this in mind — and, specifically, because the new Garbage album is out this week — we thought it was high time [...]

The 19902s were an awkward decade. People watched movies like Jurassic Park and Twister in the theaters, "Saved by the Bell" and "Friends" on the TV, and listened to grunge, punk and ska on cassettes or their Discman. A fashionable look involved flannel and a No Fear t-shirt or jelly shoes and slap bracelets for the ladies. It was a period that brought us the Gulf War, the first George Bush and Power Rangers. Just when we thought that decade was firmly in our collective rearview mirror, news broke that bands like Garbage, The [...]
Filed under: News BAUER-GRIFFIN The funny thing about Courtney Love is that her never-ending saga of embarrassing public statements is often punctuated by clear-headed and lucid observations that belie the singer's tempestuous nature. This is most recently demonstrated by her chastisement of her own twitter feed, which has been the source of a lot of controversy as of late. So, despite losing the rights to Kurt Cobain's public image, Love has decided to [...]
In 2007, Hole gay drummer Patty Schemel went up to her friend P. David Ebersole with a bunch of Hi8 tapes she shot over her years with the band. Amazing footage of Hole members Eric Erlandson, Melissa Auf der Maur, late bassist Kristen Pfaff and Courtney Love, her husband Kurt Cobain and daughter Frances Bean. [...]
It's been twenty years since Patty Schemel became the drummer for Hole at the age of 25 in 1992. At the time, the band consisted entirely of co-founders Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson. The bassist and drummer with whom they'd recorded their grinding debut album, Pretty on the Inside, had moved on; Patty was recommended [...]
Filed under: News , New Music , New Releases Frank Micelotta/Getty Images In a recent interview Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson told Fuse TV that Kurt Cobain had been working on a solo album in the months before his death. "He was headed in a direction that was really cool," Erlandson said. "It would have been his White Album. That's really what he was going towards, a solo [...]
Hit So Hard , a film currently in festivals, mostly serves as a documentary about former Hole drummer Patty Schemel, but it also has a bunch of home footage of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, a couple who were capturing people's imagination since the first time they got together. Some bootleg footage of the movie recently surfaced online, and it features Cobain and Love playing a crude, sketchy acoustic version of an unreleased duet called "Stinking Of You" alongside some seriously heartbreaking images of the two of them taking care of an infant Frances Bean Cobain. Watch it [...]

Last year, director P. David Ebersole's Hole documentary Hit So Hard made its rounds in select theaters. While the focus is on former drummer Patty Schemel's struggles with fame and addiction, as Antiquiet points out , there is also a bevy of unreleased footage featuring Kurt Cobain and headline-grabbing Courtney Love as a couple. One such clip has surfaced online, namely a jumbled duet titled "Stinking of You", which also features a young Pat Smear in the background. It's all vintage Cobain and sounds like half a dozen of his demos, though it's nice to see his [...]

Eric chegou a ver Cobain [...]

Ayer se presentó el documental: Hit So Hard: The Life & Near Death Story of Patty Schemel en el club Public Assembly.
Hole played “Miss World” at Public Assembly last night. All of this is amazing and LOL.
Filed under: News Getty Images Courtney Love started this week on a negative note, ranting against Dave Grohl on Twitter and in the comments section of a Gothamist post, but last night, she kicked off the weekend with some positivity. At the after-party for Hit So Hard , a new documentary about former Hole drummer Patty Schemel, Love joined three of her ex-bandmates onstage at Public Assembly in Brooklyn [...]
