The National have shared Track 3 from the upcoming Trouble Will Find Me online. "Don't Swallow the Cap" is the second song they've shared from the new LP, along with " Demons ", and it proves that loyal fans will be very happy with the new album. "Don't Swallow the Cap" is much more in the vein of the brooding and expansive sound that the band is known for, and with the knowledge that it follows "Demons" for tracks 2 and 3, one can begin to get a picture of the album's scope and mood. The Swedish post-punk outfit known as Holograms has announced a new album, and they've put out a new track to drum up excitement. Like many tracks on the band's debut, "Flesh And Bone" feels dismal and emotionally defeated. However, the band seems to have gotten a better recording this time around. Not only that, but there are more melodic details to this track, and a pretty climactic ending as well. The band is really shooting for the stars on this one, and finding a niche of their own in this brave new world of downtrodden post-punk. Enjoy! Check [...]

Swedish punks Holograms made some noise last year with their self-titled debut album , and they've already announced plans for its follow-up, Forever , due in a few months. First single "Flesh And Bone" is a stark and dramatic thing, a the synth-streaked motorik assault that reminds me of the early Cure. It's a seriously good song, and you can hear it below. Busy is not the word at the minute, but never too busy for a new Holograms track. "Flesh and Bone" is the first glimpse of what we're soon to hear on, Forever , the follow up to their self-titled debut . continue reading >>
A little over a year after the release of their excellent self-titled debut , CoSigned Swedish proto-punk outfit Holograms will return with their sophomore LP Forever on September 3rd via Captured Tracks. Those who can't stomach a five-month wait are in luck, as the band's already released the lead single, "Flesh and Bone". While Holograms' drive has always been deliberate, this new track sees them curtail the undertones of playfulness for the depressive drive of thudding drums and snarling post-punk guitars. But with their vintage synth shimmering above the fray intermittently, [...]

Indie Babe of the Week Butterclock (or Laura Clock) is a Paris/Berlin based blooming songstress who is shooting for the stars with her new single “Hologram”. Seemingly making this in another galaxy, the fluttering synths placate the heavenly voice of this blonde bombshell. We’re left with a thoughtful insight on space longing and loneliness that inspires us to sit on top of the moon and ponder life. This will be on the digital release of her debut EP First Prom , out April 15th.
Put this knowledge in your mouth, err, brain: Akinyele's "Put It In Your Mouth" is one of the best songs you never want to play at the following moments: a first date, a wedding, or, while cozying up with your Valentine. I remember last year Every1 was buzzing abt 2pac still being alive [via hologram] [via the Coachella ] Now I see the 2k13 lineup Sure, there's plenty of relevant buzzbands playing live tunes in the picturesque city of Indio, CA But unfortunately There will be no 3d holograms There will be no dead ppl No1 will be brought back 2 life. There will be no resurrections Easter is on March 31, so I guess Jesus will be the [...]

Part three of the DFBM Best of 2012 listing. It's a bit longer, because it's not really bound to any genre. Ok, at the end it's pretty much a similar sound, but who cares. I am a narrow minded guy. Enjoy anyway... 20. Grimes - Visions [...]

Dry The River London's Dry The River may not have had quite the world-conquering 2012 that I'd predicted for them back in the Spring , but they've still had a very good year, their debut album Shallow Bed delivering on the buzz that they'd built up at home and also translating trans-Atlantically, justifying a couple of North American tours. Not quite Mumford-level triumphs for the folk-rockers, but pretty damn good for a first outing. So good, that they've recorded the album all over again. They've [...]
