So remember how Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg performed with a "hologram" version of Tupac at Coachella earlier this year? Of course you do. And remember how they wanted to take the creepy-as-fuck technology out on the road for a tour ? Yeah, you probably remember that, too. Well, don't bet on that ever happening. The company behind the hologram—they also worked on some big-budget films and wanted to make Elvis a hologram—has filed for bankruptcy. It would appear that they're in some pretty big debt, CNN Money reports. How much? Well, "As [...]

It's a sad night for three dimensional constructs of dead musicians everywhere. Tupac's hologram, whose *successful* appearance at Coachella led to talk of similar reincarnations from Elvis , Jimi Hendrix , Jim Morrison , Left Eye , Freddie Mercury , has died. He was five months old. As CNN reports (via Pitchfork ), Digital Domain Media Group, the company behind the Tupac hologram, has filed for bankruptcy. During its 20 year existence, the company worked on special effects for movies likes Titanic and P irates of [...]

Former factory working young punks Holograms released their debut album earlier this summer. To coincide with the start of their North American tour they've released a video to album closer 'Fever', and it's rather delicious. 'Fever' itself is a slap-in-the-face slice of primary coloured, trebley indie-punk that rattles with the boredom of youth and the want for something better. “There is lots of angst and honesty and heart. We look to capture those feelings and to capture those kinds of emotions." - Anton Spetze.
Swedish punk rock group Holograms have released a video for their song, “Fever”, off their recently released self-titled debut album through Captured Tracks. Watch the video after the jump and find out where you can see the band in the US. TOUR DATES 09/05 Washington, D.C. - DC 9 [...]

Frank Yang Since I've covered the essentials of FME in the first two posts, I'll just preface this one with a curious statistic. Of all the meals I ordered in Rouyn-Noranda over the five days I was there, I'm pretty sure I got the wrong order at least half of those times. Wrong size, wrong topping, wrong food, whatever. And my French isn't that bad. I mean it's bad, but I know what I said. Strange. Anyways. The Sunday of FME was decidedly light on programming - there [...]
Holograms drops a colorful, eye-blasting new video collage for one of the more upbeat tracks from their new, self-titled album. Check out a review of the LP here .

Swedish band of young whippersnappers Holograms are spewing out the most melodious of indie-punk this side of the sun, and at the same time having a shitload of fun doing it too. Clearly, once you've watched their video for "Fever" a couple of times, you'll see they're applying the same fun-times to their videos. All you need for this is a brain, a pair of eyes, and at least one finger to click play (it doesn't even need to be your own finger). Your brain will take care of the [...]
I enjoyed every bit of Hologram 's debut album lately, got it on my walkman, spotify, vinyl and dunno, just everywhere. ∆∆∆ Better than the 'Time to Pretend' video? Better than the 'Time to Pretend' video. Stockholm's Holograms play music that's as gritty punkrokk sounding as their press photo looks. They play fast and dirty and their sound makes you want to do something; like party. Their debut album, where 'Fever' is from, is out now on Captured Tracks [who happen to have one of the most stellar artist lineups] and you can stream the whole thing from their soundcloud .

Live This Month: September 2012 — an audio guide through SF concerts this month (Podcast #286) In Live This Month , we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area. Of the picks that did make the cut, however, our top pick is our fifth annual Rock Make Street Festival [...]

To a certain extent, punk is all about annoying or enraging your audience, an ideology that the CoSigned Swedish proto-punk outfit Holograms demonstrate all too well in the video for "Fever". Seemingly armed with an abundance of mid-'80s commercial footage and some low-level editing/graphics software, director Pau Suris creates a montage of overly bright and decidedly kooky images (spinning heads with no eyes, breakdancing boulders, etc.) that's bound to make some viewers queasy and/or dizzy to the point of insanity. See if you can withstand the visual onslaught when you click play below. [...]
