Swiftumz – the lo-fi pop project from Chris McVickers, an artist we previously dubbed "San Francisco’s loveable and cuddly brat" – is releasing its LP Don't Trip for the first time ever on tape today, courtesy of the Fullerton's Burger Records , and the label is streaming album cut "4EVA" on SoundCloud now. Earlier this week Sweden's rising experimental trio Kriget unveiled the disturbing music video for "Holy Mountain" on the FADER . With just bass, drums and a furious saxophone the Swedish avant garde combo, made up of Christoffer Roth, Gustav Bendt and Per Nordmark, take inspiration from pioneers in the margins of pop. The video, directed by Fredrik Joeison , portrays "A time honoured ritual celebrating and appeasing the approaching dark season [in it] a nuclear family introduce their Alpha male to the secret meaning of the five elements." After the dance party last Wednesday night, Nathan and I decided to go local and take a stab at the new venue living in Beauty Bar's space on 7th, Holy Mountain.
