My month-long Breaking Bad frenzy has sadly come to an end. On September 24th, I decided to check out Episode 1 / Season 1, the pilot episode, on Netflix. Three and a half weeks later, I've watched every episode of all four seasons - and I'm desperate for more. I can say without any doubt that this is the best television series I have ever watched . I had similar feelings about the genius of The Sopranos in its heyday, but my admiration for and obsession over Breaking Bad surpasses even that. [...]

I'm kind of pissed i let this EP from Honey Claws sit on my table for months. I guess it's good music for any day, but it certainly lends itself better to a day that ushers in good things. Honey Claws are from Austin, TX who's goal was "to create not only a sound but also a movement based on positive vibes and cosmic carpet rides. Lost in translation but stamped nonetheless; what emerged was electric punk lyrical katana blade ninjary with a smile. Honey Claws." umm...ok. These are off of their EP Healer , [...]

Bundled CD contests are fun. Why win one CD when you could win two at the same time, eh? The hip-hop/electronic group Honey Claws has provided me with two of their discs, the self-titled Honey Claws album and their newer Healer EP . Want them? Read on... Hailing from across the world the powers of Thomas Sahs, Ben Senior, Jon Von Letscher, and Traey Hatch have come together to form the band [...]

FMLY , a great LA based blog known for throwing some of the most creative parties in town, have asked Future Sounds to get involved and help present the first trip to LA for Austin based freak-unit, HONEY CLAWS at Out Of Asia on June 19th . If you aren't aware of this band that is also a DJ unit, then wake the F up. It's hard to accurately describe the range of sound that is Honey Claws, one minute digital-rap, the next, straight indie rock. Listen [...]
Austin's multi-genre eclectic explosion of a band, Honey Claws are back with a new EP, Healer . It's a 4 track affair that swims through hip hop, rock, and numerous other sounds just within four quick songs. The stand out track on Healer has to be the reggae dub/afro beat hip hop beat driven track "Beat Of The Wet Eve". It's friggin amazing. mp3: Honey Claws - Beat Of The Wet Eve The EP was mixed by Bill Racine who has worked with a stellar group of bands [...]
Honey Claws is the eclectic collaboration of three experienced House DJs/producers and vocalist Jon von Letscher. The combination adds up to a very interesting output. Their new four song EP is called Healer, and it's pretty good. The leadoff track is Lighting Killeye. Its an upbeat pop tune with dance beats and various [...]
So it's Thursday, which means it's time for five tracks and no commentary. All the artists chosen for today's post possess unique vocal ranges which produce a certain eclectic, left-of-center sound. I encourage you to listen to the tracks for each Weekly Everything post as a group in succession. They are designed to fit together as a mini playlist of sorts. Enjoy! Chris Price - Heat Up (Original) (192 kbps) Metronomy - My Heart Rate Rapid (Primary 1's Love Letter To Metronomy) (158 [...]

Artist: Honey Claws EP: Healer Label: Unsigned Website: http://www.honeyclaws.com Words By: Richard Wink I'm still trying to get used to this happy-go-lucky good times electro mess. The digital distortion of samples is inescapable and worryingly contagious, dressed in blasé day glo attire and gormless ecstatic smiles. The colourful bleeps found in almost every song getting released right now kindly corrupts me with nightmarish flashbacks to my childhood, back when I would sit cross-legged on the carpet in front of the TV [...]

32 Feet is posting from the West Coast for the next week or so. We'll be catching some shows, posting wildly and drowning in rain. Posts will be shorter, barely topical and across three time-zones. Stick with us. The pioneers have been trying to survive out here for 200 years - we're just the next wave.If my life was a movie, I'd want Honey Claws' "Pemporer" on the soundtrack. It thumps like a

Who : Honey Claws from Austin, TX. What : Something about this one really has my ear. From the 4 song Healer EP, here's a chilled Stone Roses -esque number which shows the bands ability to 'straddle the lines of multiple musical genres while offering a complicated, yet logical musical progression'. Song : Pemporer .

His Mischief release new music video, Man Man and Gogol Bodello to share Cabooze date & "Dylan Fest" Announced

Genre defying multi-instrumentalists Honey Claws released a self-titled album last year that had its moments, though it was a little hard for me to get my head around. The group now have a new release, Healer , a more conceptionally sound four-song work that I've found far more to my liking. "Lightning Kill Eye" begins the procession with uplifting dancebeats, pulsating synths, and accompanying melody leading a glitzy dance-off. "Pemporer" comes off like a bastard cousin from Peter Gabriel's III (Melt), and that's no bad thing. "Beat of the Wet Eve," is a march with island vibe [...]

SXSW was a blast. The crowd was enthusiastic, the food was savory (thank you Pita Pit), and discovering new music in a live setting is definitely preferred over a computer screen. I'd just like to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to come out, we never expected to reach capacity so quickly! Also, an equal in size thank you goes out to Sneak Attack Media, Tierra Productions, UV Vodka and Hi-Lo for sponsoring the event as well as Honey Claws, Ninjasonik, TheDeathSet, The Hood Internet, DD/MM/YYYY, Fol Chen, Rumspringa, Cerebral Ballzy, The Hungry Villagers, Madi [...]

Honey Claws bas been paying attention. Their previous album suffered from vocal deficiencies, an issue they tackled successfully on the new EP Healer , thanks to the mixing skills of Bill Racine (Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips). The Austin band is exploring the funk mashed with electronics, moving away a bit from hip-hop. With a pinch of reggae thrown in for good measure they are one step closer to the major league of danceable indie bands. Healer is released on CD and as a digital release. Get it [...]
Texas foursome Honey Claws make electronic music with elements of funk, r&b, hip hop, dub, reggae, and of course, indie rock. After releasing a sparkling debut album last year (review here), the band have recently come back with a 4-song EP, Healer. The EP kicks off with "Lightning Kill Eye", a bright sunny cut that incorporates feedback as a way to juxtapose the underlying pop ditty.
