Here's the latest single from Chicago natives BBU which will appear on their upcoming mixtape, bell hooks, out February 14 via Mad Decent/Mishka Records. I've actually slept on anything from the group since "Please No Pictures," which I'm now regretting because I think "The Hood" is some quality material. BBU will release their long-awaited sophomore mixtape, bell hooks , next month. Previously we presented the album's lead single, " Kurt De La Rocha" . That one was a rock tinged jam about freedom in the music biz, which paid homage to two artists that always did it their way. BBU's new joint brings it back to Chicago, as the GLC assisted, "The Hood", witnesses the strength of street knowledge (no NWA). Perfume Genius releases a new video promoting the release of the project's latest album, Put Your Back N 2 It , which will be out via Matador on February 21st. The video was directed by Winston H. Case, and, strangely enough, features Hungarian pornography star Arpad Miklos. The song itself feels like a sad and heart-broken Motown song from back in the day, but it's been updated with a modern depression and atmosphere.
