Now, I'm no meteorologist, but based on this week's Hip-Hop Dojo, it seems fair to say that we have a scorching hot summer ahead of us. The ninth edition of The Hip-Hop Dojo is jam packed with promising young talent primed to take over the game. The beginning of summer also indicates the start of mixtape season, which is what really makes this week’s selection truly special. Just about every track collected here was specifically chosen from a stellar project that recently dropped. While we can only share one gem from each artist, definitely make an effort to check out [...]
One Timers are quick hits to keep your ears fresh throughout the day. Get down with these tracks, sans a bunch of words clogging up your brain. Wondering what a real one timer is? Watch this . Hint: He shoots, he scores! - I've gotta wonder if Hoodie made a last minute change to the lyrics of "Make It Home" after the J-E-T-S drafted Geno Smith, or if that was there all along? I believe I saw that he is a fan of the Jets, so that [...]

About a month ago, FUSE TV hooked up Hoodie Allen with legitimized YouTube singer Kina Grannis and challenged them to record a song in 24 hours, then perform for an intimate crowd. . The result was "Make It Home" and will definitely make you question what the hell you've accomplished in the last dayFeaturing an uplifting tone that's activated by the acoustic guitar based-beat and Grannis' wide vocal range, this honest pop-rap jam is laced with underdog spirit and radio-ready already. To hear the results of Hoodie's expedited grind for yourself, listen below or purchase [...]

New music from Hoodie Allen "Make It Home" featuring Kina Grannis and produced by Something Silent (RJF & David Brook). iTunes: Make It Home (feat. New Hoodie Allen. Does it get better than this? With an extraordinarily catchy chorus provided by Kina Grannis, Hoodie lays down a smooth verse with some deep lyrics. Why is this different from what other rappers make? Decide for yourself.

The latest Hoodie Allen releases have been kind of a let down for me personally, but I feel like he's definitely back on the right track with his new collaboration with Kina Grannis. The song is called Make It Home and I actually really dig it. Buy on iTunes: Hoodie Allen feat. Kina Grannis - Make It Home
A couple of years ago this collaboration would be way out of the ball park for Hoodie Allen , but after solid songwriting turns on his All American EP and more recently on his Crew Cuts mixtape, it comes as no surprise. Fuse TV actually brought these two together, resulting in a pretty dynamic track. Wow, sorry that was such a normal post. I usually get weird on Hoodie Allen write-ups. Maybe we are both maturing at our craft. Okay, that got a little weird. Support good music and buy [...]

Here's a pop tune for you. Catchy and with two up and coming artists, "Make It Home" is the definition of a top-40 hit, something you woudn't typically find on MTIB. With that said, I liked the concept behind the song, hence why I'm posting it. I absolutely love when two unsuspecting artists come together to collaborate and this time around FUSE is helping in the process. With their new series, they pair two artists together and, given 24 hours, write a song and then perform it live the next day. Kinda cool eh?
Few musicians are as dedicated to their fans as Hoodie Allen is to his. He responds to every tweet, almost every Facebook post, and hands out free music like candy. His latest mixtape, Crew Cuts , is Hoodie's fourth free mixtape, and contains eleven classic Hoodie songs that are downloadable from his website . A Long Island native, Hoodie Allen strays far from the typical stereotype of a white rapper - and the typical stereotype of a Jewish New Yorker. After graduating from The Wharton School for business, Hoodie started a job [...]

Hoodie Allen releases Cruisin USA Tour Video Episode 3. And at the same time, I've reviewed his live show at San Francisco's Regency Ballroom.
Instead of a typical Monday Morning Mix-up I'm throwing a spring break party mix your way. If you aren't on a beach drinking with boat loads of gorgeous women, this playlist probably isn't for you. But, if you are fortunate enough to find yourself in that situation, press play and proceed to party. You'll be hearing the likes of Chiddy Bang, Hoodie Allen, Slightly Stoopid, and some remixes of Foster the People, Passion Pit, Outasight, and more. Cheers.

![[ALBUM] Aer – Strangers EP](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4842778_lg.jpg)
Aer put on a hell of a show when I saw them supporting Hoodie Allen just over a week ago. Throughout the show their versatility was made very apparent. At times they were spittin' straight up party anthems and other times would break it down with more of a Slightly Stoopid feel. Their many influences are again made apparent on their newest EP Strangers - with "She'll Miss It" and "Guaranteed" being more of the party pleasers and "Take it Back" being the chill, reggae-hop track. I might have just made that term up? [...]

In honor of their show that I'm hitting up tomorrow night, I present to you Aer 's freshest new single: Take it Wrong . And man, is it fresh. The Boston duo once again delivers their signature mellow, beach-side sound over an easy-going beat and chill, strolling bass line. Combining elements of hip hop, reggae, indie, and a style similar to Slightly Stoopid and Sublime , Aer once again knocks it out of the park with this one. Actually, Aer would more likely be watching one get knocked [...]
![[SHOW REVIEW] Hoodie Allen with Aer and Jared Evan at First Avenue](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4826222_lg.jpg)
You can't fuck fame. Someone needs to reiterate that to Hoodie Allen's fans because judging by the number of bras thrown on stage, the girls are sure tying to. With songs like "#whitegirlproblems" and "James Franco," it's easy to see why the New York native appeals to the younger demographic. He hits on topics that every young kid can relate to - Twitter, drinking for the first time, idolizing celebrities - the list goes on. With that said, I've got to be honest and say that this was my first Hoodie show. I really had no clue what to [...]
