"True Loves" não é só o nome do single em questão, mas também o nome do novo álbum do Hooray for Earth . Além do mais, esse é o motivo de compartilhar uma música da banda só agora. Isto é o que posso chamar de harmonia entre música e vídeo, e isto você há de concordar comigo. À primeira vista, "True Loves" soa uma versão sombria de "Silent Shout" do The Knife . Para uma banda que se denomina post-punk, "True Loves" [...]

photo by Maryanne Ventrice Twin Shadow just happens to be one of our albums of the year, and any wind of something coming out of his corner makes my ears wet. Here are a couple of remixes that have emerged of late; first up is a face-off between Twin Shadow and fellow Brooklynite, Hooray for the Earth. For some reason, after hearing this song, I find myself singing New Order 's 'Bizarre Love Triangle', which is totally not a bad thing at all. I think it's something to [...]

Slightly overdue in this fast-moving blogosphere, but this one's too catchy to pass up. Listen to this Twin Shadow and Hooray for Earth collaboration, "A Place We Like," written by Hooray and vocal/guitar contributions from George (Twin Shadow). Remember when we said Twin Shadow has never taken a wrong step? He's still good in our book. The song sounds like an equal-part collab between the two indie pop artists and it actually gets catchier with every listen. Enjoy! MP3: Twin Shadow vs. Hooray for Earth "A [...]
Crystal Castles, comprising of Ethan Kath and Alice Glass, have exploded in popularity on the indie scene and beyond. Their 2008 self-titled debut LP was voted one of the top 50 albums of the 2000's by NME magazine. Read more, get songs or stream the entire mix on Indie Rock Cafe

Check out this sick collaboration between two NYC up-and-comers — thrash pop outfit Hooray For Earth and the synth-loving, '80s-inspired Twin Shadow . These two young innovators got together at RAD studios in Brooklyn back in May, and their combined efforts have been stirring up some serious buzz, especially the track below. With its retro-electro beats, cascading synth lines, and soaring choruses, "A Place We Like" will put you in a place you like, metaphysically speaking. Hooray For Earth vs. Twin Shadow - "A Place We Like" [...]

Brooklyn indie star child George Lewis, Jr. aka Twin Shadow has been making significant waves in the modern dreamy new wave genre and his recent full-length debut, Forget , has been receiving a fair amount of positive attention and criticism. The catchy and synth heavy Forget was released on Terrible Records , which was founded by Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor (who also produced the record) and may be a proper launch for this unique artist. The album divides it's emotions of loneliness and carefree inhibitions quite eloquently with chiming keyboards and shiny synth-pop [...]
Hooray For Earth has been in the news a bit lately, what with this track and another new one they were streaming that we didn't bother mentioning a few weeks back. To my knowledge however, we have never discussed Twin Shadow on the site. No matter, since the two have collaborated on today's topic, a [...]

Twin Shadow (pictured) and Hooray For Earth have teamed up to produce this track, "A Place We Like", which is featured on Twin Shadow's latest debut album. The album is entitled Forget and is available for purchase now. We did a feature on Twin Shadow a while back ( HERE ) which showcased his ability to invoke the pop sound of the 802s while still creating a new sound at the same time. This, "A Place We Like", track has those same elements that let you know Twin was involved. Enjoy the track. [...]

Each day we open our inbox to find a plethora of emails from PR firms, labels, bands, artists, fans of artists, and porn sites… needless to say, our tagline, So Much Music… So Little Time… is no exaggeration. Yes, there is music in porn. Anyway, this morning I opened an email from one of our favorite labels to work with, 4AD, and along with updates on 4AD artists Iron & Wine, Deerhunter, The National, Broken Redhead, and more, I was introduced to Twin Shadow. Twin Shadow is George Lewis Jr. He [...]
