Hot Chip released In Our Heads , their last album, just a year ago, and the band usually uses their in-between-albums time to work on all the various side projects its members usually have going. But they must be feeling generous, since the full group recently got together to record a new single, a lithe and gorgeous dance-pop song called "Dark & Stormy," and they've already shared the song. Hot Chip make a welcome return with their brand new single "Dark & Stormy", their first original material since 2012 album "In Our Heads". This one-off single will be released on July 22 via Domino, and comes backed with a new version of "Look At Where We Are", featuring Tori and Reiko Kudo from the legendary Japanese folk-psych collective Maher Shalal Hash Baz. You can pre-order the 10" here .

I've kind of been a bit unimpressed with Hot Chips latest stuff, but this new "single" sounds right back on track.

About Group , the collaborative project of Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Charles Hayward (This Heat), John Coxon (Spring Heel Jack, Spiritualized), and Pat Thomas, have reunited to release their third album, Between the Walls , due out July 2nd via Domino. It’s been a while since Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard ’s last solo offering, 2011’s Gabriel , although he has been pretty busy with The 2 Bears.
