The La Route Du Rock festival, scheduled to be held in Brittany, have announced their first handful of acts scheduled to play over the weekend of August 15th – 17th. Ticket holders can expect to see Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tame Impala, Hot Chip, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Woods, Local Natives and !!!. The festival organisers promise, "headline-length sets for ever performer." Tickets for the event are available from the festival's official site .
This week, London three-piece Daughter released their mesmeric debut album, If You Leave . To celebrate, the trio popped in to BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday night to perform a jaw-dropping session excusively for Zane Lowe. It included this: a gorgeous, slow-burning mix up of Bon Iver's 'Perth' and Hot Chip's 'Ready For The Floor'. Recently the London folk rock trio Daughter stopped by BBC Radio 1 and recorded a stunningly tender "mashup" of Bon Iver's "Perth" and Hot Chip's "Ready For The Floor". Front woman Elena Tonra blends the two seemingly un-blendable tracks, nursing them into one soothing, blissful cover that almost sounds like an entirely new song. Listen to it below.
