I think I may have just about reached the stage where I have found the limit - that exact point where too much of a good thing resides. Hot Club de Paris sit very definitely in a little cluster of indie bands who purvey a particularly spasmodic, jerky, hyperactive brand of guitar pop. These other groups range from the very melodic Maximo Park at one end, through the increasingly melodic Futureheads all the way down to the staccato shouting of the first Art Brut album. Having just read a really good post on [...]
There's a good post on Come Pick Me Up about a British 3-piece called Hot Club de Paris, who I happened to see at Bestival this year on one of those little new band sideshow thingies. They were brilliant - spiky, jerky, energetic and with a canny knack for a melody. Anyhow, I only mention this because a/ I have pinched some of Lizzy's mp3s from CPMU and b/ they are playing at King Tut's in Glasgow on Sunday 28th January , and are definitely worth going to see, if you [...]

"We quit smiling, because your face looks all wrong." These English boys, who fly under the moniker Hot Club de Paris , do absolutely everything right. In fact, it's the imperfections that make them perfect. Thick accents layered over swift, riff-laden instrumentation. Though the band has been getting a good deal of attention over in the UK, they're still a pretty well kept secret here in the states. I've been meaning to post some tracks for awhile, but I had a hard time getting my hands [...]
Thanks, Blogger, for totally acting up today and making it a general pain to get an update up! Anyway, some news: We're djing at the Cue house Halloween party on Friday the 27th. Not sure how wise it is to publicize the address, but the details are on their MySpace blog. Jason, Colin, and Clarke's Jesus Lizard cover band (with Toto from Octopus Project ), WWJLD? and the Crystal Shits (a Dead Milkmen cover band, OF COURSE!) play, and there will also be hott action from dj [...]

Hot Club de Paris-the off topic interview I've seen many a blog triumph this Liverpool trio and upon hearing 'Shipwreck' included in a Swish Blog podcast I am ready to too. Ahoy-here comes Hot Club de Paris' Paul ready to conquer the States, not ready to rock an eye patch. . . yet. Behold Tell a creative story about a ship wreck, with this picture taken in Bowling Scotland as the basis: [...]

I'm fuckin' annoyed with myself right now, since i've just realised that the iLiKETRAiNS gig I was massively looking forward to was in fact last week, and I forgot about it. GAH!!!! What a doughnut! I was sure it was in September :-( I did manage to catch some bands at the weekend though... namely The Research and Hot Club de Paris at the Lock Tavern. I've posted 'Shipwrecked' by Hot Club de
