They've been fairly quiet since then but are gearing up for an EP release, which follows their debut single 'October'. Indeed, they're giving away a cover of Roy Orbison 's 'Crying' to preview that release. The Hot Horizons version takes on a more muggy feel, strangely jaded compared [...]
We last heard him being remixed by Jamie XX but it's some new kids who have got their hands on NYC 's FaltyDL this time. As part of the Planet Mu remix competition - the prize is a spot on a 12" towards the end of the year - his 2 step infused work slowed down and sped up the UK's RLVNT and SertOne . If you fancy having a go, learn more and grab the stems from Self Titled Magazine . You Stand Certain, Falty DL's debut album is [...]

This is a song for lo-fi electro freaks, for rooms illuminated by blue lightbulbs, for men in masks, for empty train carriages, for house parties when you realise all your friends left hours ago. Interview: Hot Horizons
Reminiscent of an acoustic Bombay Bicycle Club and containing hints of shoe gaze, Hot Horizons create a sound that is both gentle and impassioned. Incorporating dreamy synths, beautiful guitar reverbs, and the harmonious vocals of lead singer Jake McCarthy , each track soothingly sweeps across your mind while leaving a definite musical imprint. Formed by brothers Jake and Rory McCarthy , Hot Horizons are beginning to grab the attention of many bloggers and music critics alike, and with their next single October out in (guess when), October, this [...]

Hot Horizons make their grand, breathlessly romantic pop in the strangest of places as Rory from the band explains. "We recorded this song recently with a friend of ours, Sam Eastgate [of Late Of The Pier] and spent half the time recording in this mad stairway which looked like it was stolen from the 1920s or a cruise-ship. We loved the sound of the place." We spoke to these bright young things about the enduring influence of Cordozar Calvin Broadus.
