Two decades from now, how do you think 2011 will be remembered? As the year we lost Amy Winehouse? How about the year three of music's most iconic outfits - The White Stripes, R.E.M., and LCD Soundsystem - all decided to call it quits? Maybe Lana Del Rey will prove a sustainable force and then we can all tell our children about the great collagen debate of 2011. Or try to explain to them how two rock and roll hall of famers came together to create the worst piece of music imaginable. Yeah, 2011 was a fucking weird year. [...]

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - Fun Fun Fun Fest Recap (Dan) - Sometimes bigger isn't better. While I wouldn't classify the expanded Fun Fun Fun Fest as a raging success, by no means was it a failure. If anything it was a victim of its past success and the inflated expectations placed on this year's festival. I would've preferred they didn't add the third day, but I appreciated that there were less scheduling conflicts. As for Auditorium Shores, it may not have [...]

by BBG The Damned @ F F F Fest Day two of Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011 was definitely more taxing than day one (pics here and here ), in part due to the unrelenting dust storms. But despite a case of brown lung and some fatigue, it was still a blast and I managed to catch most of the sets at the Black Stage, as well as select shows at the Blue Stage and even popped [...]

I say it every year, but Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin is my favorite festival. And that won't change in 2011, thanks in part to a badass lineup that includes Danzig playing Misfits tunes, Public Enemy playing Public Enemy tunes, the fucking Hot Snakes , Reggie Watts , M83 , Slayer , Ted Leo [...]
