At the age of 21, he's already garnering quite a loyal following on the blogs and today's offering shows why he's one to look out for next year. He's giving away the 320 of his remix Housse De Racket's sing-along anthem 'Roman'. It's full on a orgy of happy-go-lucky electro-pop as it see's him run riot with his distinctive musical pop paintbrush. You know what [...]

So in honor of my impending trip to the great city of Paris **insert an expletive of the "OMFG-IM-GOING-TO-EXPLODE-WITH -EXCITMENT" variety here** I've been listening to a lot of French music lately. And not just bands from France... but bands with songs in French. So if you find a language barrier a factor in your enjoyment [...]

Housse de Racket , the collaboration of Pierre Leroux and Victor Le Masne, hails from Paris but has a reputation that spreads across the globe. With the release of their second album Alesia on the Kitsune label, the duo has been making waves across the blogosphere and in our iTunes libraries. Buttressed by pop sensibilities, their sound accommodates a variety of influences including funk, electro, nu-disco, and indie rock. We were lucky enough to get a chance to ask them some questions, check out what they had to say, as well as [...]

Hemingway 's "Pacific Boogie" remix of Housse De Racket's "Oh Yeah!" is one of the blogospheres little hidden treasures. Last month he uploaded a crunchier alternative version of the remix, this one is a bit tougher around the edges. But it does add some freshness, giving it a heavier strut-funk vibe. Housse De Racket - Oh Yeah! (Hemingway's 707 Jungle Lounge Version) Tweet This Post
Housse de Racket did an intimate and amazing performance last week at Silencio the new Parisian club designed by David Lynch. The Unknown Hipster (aka Jean-Philippe Delhomme) was there with his sharp eye and did some really great paintings... "I thought I would be more into Housse de Racket's name (it's better than Housse de [...]
Already 6 months since last season's fashion week and I am back in Paris with my new exclusive mixtape for Kitsuné's blog Le Journal. Hello world! Well here we go, my debut post for Dope Degree. A little about me-self. Music for me is something special, a gift from god. So my listening habit is somewhat respectful to the creator. I love to have a long-term relationship with my favorite songs so I'm kinda stuck in the past, 8o's Boogie, 9o's G Funk, 808 drums, you name it! Yes Yess I know the future is Bright but I cant let go of the past! So other than introducing you readers with regular updates, I will be digging the past for y'all as well. So please [...]

I caught these Housse De Racket guys at Berlin Festival and was impressed enough to check out their second album Alesia which turns out to be a jubilant collection of French indie-electro pop in the style of Phoenix. That's not a surprising comparison as the two members served as session musicans for Phoenix and Air in the past. There's also a psychedelic proggy influence not unlike the last Klaxons record (except not shit) as well as a healthy flow of synths and dance rhythms that the French have been so known for [...]

All photos by Killian Broderick . It might have been the week after Electric Picnic but what self-respecting music fan doesn't want to spend the weekend in a disused German airport watching bands? Given the opportunity to revisit Berlin Festival a year later , I jumped at the chance. Add in a couple of days of food and drink , a tour of Berlin music including Hansa Studios and the history of well-known Berlin clubs on the Berlin music tour , an Irish showcase during [...]

Zoe Xenia is a female vocalist and producer from the Netherlands. She has been releasing beautiful tech/deep house music since 2007 on Suara and her latest EP, You Got Me Started, is a shining example of her cultivated talents. After listening through the EP a few times, I singled out the hypnotic Catz & Dogz (aka 3channels) remix as my favorite. This Polish duo is not one to be overlooked.
