So, hey, I dunno if you guys heard, but earlier this month we put on this totally rad festival, The Metal Suckfest? No big deal, it was just twenty awesome bands in two days, whatever. So ANYWAY, our brahs over at Metal Injection were there to film another edition of their awesome "Ask the Artist" series, [...]
So, uh, hey, did we happen to mention that The Metal Suckfest took place this past weekend at the Gramercy Theatre here in New York? Well... it did! And we had an awesome time. Twenty incredible bands all kicked our asses and shredded our reproductive organs; we are truly exhausted, and can't wait to do [...]

Our friends over at Metalsucks are throwing a pretty rad two-day rager that they're calling the Metal Suckfest, two days, twenty bands, and a lot of booze. The party happens on November 5th and 6th at the Gramercy in NYC. The first day will feature Municipal Waste, God Forbid, Today is the Day, Howl, Black ...
Click to enlarge the ridiculously sweet poster art by Rodney Githens from Vertebrae 33 and Metal Band Art When we first announced The Metal Suckfest, we promised you that it was NOT just a bunch of tours already-in-progress, routed so that they all converge for one event. That it was NOT just bands that all sound alike [...]

Howling Bells debut album was a wonderful little record. Downright sexy and syrupy vocals, courtesy of the brilliantly-named front-woman Juanita Stein, rode along waves of edgy guitar and off-kilter melodies. Sadly the bands follow-up record failed to live up to the high expectations the band had set themselves. There was nothing particularly bad about it as such, it just failed to hold the attention in the way their debut did. Good news then that the Australian four-piece have announced that their third record The Loudest Engine will be released on September [...]

HUNTING GROUNDS (formerly HOWL)are an up and coming Aussie rock band who are known for their superchared live sets. They became nationally known down under when they took out triple j's Unearthed High crown in 2009. Since their recent name change to Hunting Grounds the rock and roll sextet has continued doing what they do best; playin' shows and causing a ruckus in the rehearsal room. The fruit of their efforts is a new single and the pinky-swear of a debut album not too far in the distance. Stream their new single IN COLOUR the first song divulged under the [...]

Famous for their explosive remixes, the young and energetic duo BeatauCue is back with a third EP « Falcon Punch » to be released on July 4th on Kitsuné ! Falcon Punch, a six original tracks EP including "H.O.W.L", a collaboration with the Japanese DJ Shinichi Osawa a.k.a Mondo Grosso, is another proof that there [...]

After a slew of cameos in this years biggest releases, Parisian producers BeatauCue are back with a full length EP of their own. 6 tracks, 6 originals, the way it should be. Do I need mention that you'll be copping every single number on here? Each one bangs from back to back, I almost can't stand the heat. The B tunes on this release could pass off as the title track, that doesn't happen a lot these days. And the one I'm pointing at is their collaboration with Japan's prince of electro Shinichi Osawa . Forget what everyone else [...]

Check those out over here. Also, our NYC photog Nathaniel Shannon ...
I'm going to put approximately as much work into this introduction as Morbid Angel did the synthesizer work on their new album. (That joke will seem hilarious in a few weeks, I swear.) We begin today with the new In Flames video, for the song "Deliver Us." It's really just a performance video, except instead [...]
