A winning personality. A balanced approach. An honest voice. Only time can write a song that's really really real. The best a man can say is the way its playing feels. It's one of those months where I really don't have time to properly write up the mix, but let's see what I can do here in the next couple of minutes. Basically as soon as I heard " An Apology ," I knew that Future Islands would find a way onto a mix. "Beach Foam" goes back to their 2008 album, Wave Like Home . I am on pins and needles for their new album, In Evening Air , which comes out on May 4th. The other song off that they've leaked is " Tin Man [...]

So, I can't even keep up with regular posting on this blog, but I decided to chip in on the trend to, now that 2010 is only a month and a half away, reflect on the past decade. In terms of society, we've entered a new Dark Ages as far as I'm concerned, but because one of my mission statements for this blog was to not talk about me, I'll only bother my friends in the bar with that. I don't consider myself important enough to be sharing my opinion on everything that's going on. So, let's talk [...]

Out with the old, in with the new! I had two blog-related resolutions for 2007. One was to listen to and review more albums. I did that about as well as I could, but I'm going to try to improve on that further in 2008. Another was to go to more concerts and take better photos. I'm doing pretty well with that one too, considering that I live outside the metropolitan area. Indie Mom and I already have two concerts lined up for January. I got a new camera last [...]

Once again I must simply post the songs and run. As for keeping the intro to a minimum, I can say either "Sorry" or "You're welcome." Onward to the weekend. . . The Like Young - Dead Eyes mp3 The Radio Dept - A Window mp3 The Go Find - Dictionary mp3 Hudson Bell - Atlantis Nights mp3

A few folks still have spring break coming, and others may be getting ready for road trips for other purposes. It's also fun for me to just put some songs out that I enjoy listening to when I'm driving or exercising, in this case, songs that were released last year or the year before. While "Let's Go" by the Feelies came out on a movie soundtrack last year, it was originally released on The Good Earth in 1986. It has a wonderful wide-open feel to it that makes you want to get [...]
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that exchanged mixes this time around, it was a really good group and I think our best exchange yet. This is the least themed of any of the exchanges so far, or rather, most people personalized the themes to their music. Topo has been pushing for this the whole time and I myself went ahead and broke rank with my mix as well. I posted it here, mostly because I don't have anyones cover art at a high enough res. There will be more posted in [...]
