![ON AN ON - 'The Hunter' (Blackbird Blackbird remix) [Listen]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4760489_lg.jpg)
ON AN ON 's delightfully righteous ‘The Hunter’ has been given the remix treatment by San Francisco’s Blackbird Blackbird . Using the original version’s airy vocal renderings, Blackbird Blackbird filters in dreamlike atmospheres and more subtle percussion, making for a very different version. For a comparison, check out the remix and the ON AN ON video below.

"The Hunter" by ON AN ON , from the spectacular album Give In . I'm going to keep telling you to go get this record, its been a staple of mine for a while now. Its also out today.

Hunters @ 92YTribeca, 8/16/2012 ( more by Amanda Hatfield ) As mentioned , Williamsburg DIY space Dead Herring will be shutting it's doors for shows this weekend with a final-night blowout on Saturday (1/26) with Necking, The Immaculates and Moonmen on the Moon, Man -- the later of which will feature "all line-up" of the group who are defunct for all intents and purposes. Just added to the bill, though, are Hunters which makes the evening a little crazier. (And it will probably [...]
![EX COPS CELEBRATED DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE AT GLASSLANDS [PHOTOS]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4740801_lg.jpg)
Photos by Eric Weiner Needless to say, when Mother Nature pummels the city with cold like she's doing now, the long trek to Glasslands on Kent can be nothing short of brutal (especially when you factor in the wind coming off the water). Still, I'd gladly repeat the painful process to catch this show. A raucous, energetic collection of bands took the stage, and the room certainly seemed to warm up by the time Ex Cops had their turn, celebrating the release of their new album True Hallucinations . [...]

This year 28 NYC "scene experts" helped us with our Best of NYC Poll 2012 for Emerging Artists by choosing their 3 favorite up and coming NYC acts. These jurors are comprised of local venue agents and other industry people who work with many local bands throughout the year (full list coming soon). Their votes this year produced a list of 68 artists, which means that - as always - most jurors voted for different bands. But some bands appeared more thans once in the "ballots": below we compiled a list of the artists who accumulated more points through the [...]

James Minchin Yesterday was one of those wonderful inbox-bursting days of press releases that, rather than having to try to figure out what to write about for a post, I had to choose what to save for later. Today we'll cover all the concert announcements that will be bringing acts from near and far through town in the next few months. We'll start with California's goth-garage rockers Black Rebel Motorcycle Club because, well, they haven't been here since Spring 2010 and they give good - or at least smoky - photo. The details of [...]

Bedroom pop rockers Ex-Cops just came out with a new video that pays serious homage to the Replacement's video " Bastards Of Young ." Hopefully their song "Ken" guides you into your weekend on the right note. Their album True Hallucinations hits stores January 22nd via Other Music Recording Co. Tweet So here we are, the first album we've had spinning on the review decks in 2013. We recently had a new belt fitted too, smooth. Though, if truth be told (which it must, IT MUST) we've only got this album at present via the medium of MP3 (nudge, nudge etc.) Where we were? Ah yes, nowhere, let's get somewhere. So here it is: Give In the debut album from the brilliant yank outfit ON AN ON . We've been big [...]

"I need the paper that's taxable." The Hood Internet link up with Chicago emcees Mig Mora and ProbCause for this remix of On and On's "The Hunter". I love what Prob and Mig were able to do with the record, how they took the concept of hunting and not returning without food and brought it into 2013. This is one of Mig's strongest verses as well. Peep the record below, released via Roll Call Records.

Prob Cause and Mig Mora assist The Hood Internet on their remix of "The Hunter" from Chicago/Minneapolis-ba sed trio On And On. All parties involved killed this one. On And On's Give In LP drops later this month, so keep an ear out for that.

It's not often that you come along a band whose sound is as refreshing as Chicago's ON AN ON. Coming off their soon-to-be released freshman LP, Give In , "The Hunter" is a blissful hello. Staccato drums and lengthy keyboards kick and punch their way through a lush vocoder melody. Influences of stadium pop-rock soar through 802s influences; ON AN ON's sound is unique in a way that makes it difficult to pin them down in one genre. It's masculine, it's feminine, it's pure and honest music making. Would I be going to far as to say they're singer/songwriter honest [...]

Chicago remix kings The Hood Internet take on "The Hunter," the explosive single by fellow Midwesterners ON AN ON . The internet stars' take on the track sacrifices vocoder in favor of some bright keys and electro-trap beats. Download the rework below. MP3: ON AN ON - "The Hunter (The Hood Internet Remix)"

The name of this band is Diarrhea Planet . Yes, you read correctly. But pay no mind, because these boys—and there are a lot of them—demand serious attention, or as serious as a band with that name can warrant. Rowdy and raucous, listening to DP is like a punch to the gut, but in a good way, waking you up from all that pop-punk garbage that people sometimes forget is neither good nor fun. Thankfully, these guys are the real deal, and that was clearly evident Tuesday night at Death By Audio. Things started early with [...]
