Sick Puppies NEW 'Tri-Polar' album; tour dates + Rock Prophecies film

Sick Puppies NEW 'Tri-Polar' album; tour dates + Rock Prophecies film Four years have passed since Australia's Sick Puppies relocated to Los Angeles, and took the world by storm with their song, "All The Same," used for a video shot in a Sydney shopping mall with their friend Juan Mann , who held up a hand-written placard offering "Free Hugs," which was seen by over 43 million viewers on YouTube alone, spurring six-figure sales of their RMR/Virgin Records/EMI Music major label debut, 'Dressed Up As Life' . Now, primed by almost three straight years of touring, playing before thousands at festivals and generally [...]

ComaSow - Portugal. The Man

ComaSow - Portugal. The Man SomaCow Media is proud to present ComaSow brought to you by Portugal. The Man . We reviewed songs from Censored Colors. The first song, "Lay Me Back Down" started out slow and melodic. The chat room was devisive over this song. Some loved it and others hated it! I don't think we've ever seen the room so split. Geoff loved the music, the lyrics, the sound but then there is this choral overlay which he wasn't too keen on. I [...]

From the Closet: Nine Inch Nails

From the Closet: Nine Inch Nails Ah, the cult of Nine Inch Nails. I can remember the hordes of "NIN" shirts roaming the halls in-between junior high classes like it was yesterday. As a 90's grunge kid, there was a lot of crossover into Nine Inch Nails. Their two greatest albums, Pretty Hate Machine & The Downward Spiral , got constant rotation in my CD player on the drive to school. Today, I present my favorite song from The Downward Spiral and one that tends to get lost in the shuffle of " Closer " and " Hurt ", the bass heavy "Piggy". [...]

Introducing… Erik Hassle

Introducing… Erik Hassle As of now, Erik Hassle is the artist to watch for 2009. His debut album, Hassle , brings many great elements together, including pop, rock, alternative, soul and synth. His visual is also not bad at all. The singles "Hurtful," which was previuosly featured, and "Don't Bring Flowers After I'm Dead" are sure-fire chart successes and other gems on the album include "Wanna Be Loved" and "Back To Bed." The album's slated for a release soon worldwide and it's only available in Sweden now. Keep an eye out for Erik Hassle .

A Sunday Conversation with Hurt

Taking the Ripple office by surprised with their devastating new album of mature and passionate, alt-metal with some tasty prog flourishes, we couldn't wait to get the gentlemen of Hurt over to the Ripple office to spend some time on our red leather interview couch. Now, squeezing all four of them onto that little couch took a bit of maneuvering, but I'm sure all you Hurt fans will agree, it was worth the effort. And one thing I've learned about Hurt fans recently, is that they're as passionate about the band as [...]

A Ripple Road Trip - vol. II

A Ripple Road Trip - vol. II As in my first Ripple Roadtrip post, this post is a homage to the wonderful, vast assortment of music that finds it's way into postman Sal's mailbag, and therefore onto our Ripple desks each day. And if there's one thing I love about the Ripple, it's that variety. As opposed to some websites who seem to think they're above the musicians, or the many quality sites out there that focus on a particular genre, here at the Ripple we're one big open mind. Rock, pop, punk, prog, proto-metal. It don't matter. Our job is simply to write [...]

From The Inbox Everywhere & Everyone: 03.14.09

From The Inbox Everywhere & Everyone: 03.14.09 I keep telling myself it's not really the schedule from hell, it only seems that way. But I love what I do and we'll get that ship in the air soon so it's all good. We've got so much great music to share, not only from the usual e- and snail-mail routes this week but from some friends in faraway places. This is going to be a rather substantial weekend inbox as we didn't have one last weekend, so I'll keep the comments to a minimum and let the music play for itself. • • • [...]

Christina Aguilera: anteprima nuove canzoni e nuovo album

Cash Money

Johnny Cash - Hurt
Johnny Cash covering Trent Reznor's Hurt. Depressing as shit. Classic as fuck.

Aimless Winehouse, kissing Trent's girlfriend, fat people can't smoke out Osama, Arab Strap dude talks about ejaculating on women's faces, all good things must come to an end

Well friends, I must recommend seeing Ted Nugent live. But if you can't do that, I recommend you watch him talking to Anthony Bourdain here. This is a lot like the show I saw, except that they're both sitting in some semi-military vehicle and not dressed as an Indian chief who calls himself "Sergeant Gutpile." John Lydon is not a fan of the whole art of immitating that daggum negro music . But he also doesn't like the real thing . Also, Johnny Rotten saying someone lacks talent is a bit like Charlie Sheen [...]

mp3s by Mississippi John Hurt

mp3s by Mississippi John Hurt Stack O'Lee Blues Frankie Louis Collins Nodbody's Dirty Business "Raised in Avalon, Mississippi, he learned to play guitar at age 10. He spent much of his youth playing old time music for friends and dances, earning a living as a farm hand into the 1920s. In 1923 he often partnered with the fiddle player Willie Narmour (Carroll County Blues) as a substitute [...]
