Fact: The Swedish government puts trace quantities of MDMA in the drinking water in Sweden. Because of this, Swedes feel their emotions with earth-shattering profundity, and have no choice but to make devastatingly beautiful pop music about it. Fact: What I just wrote was not entirely true. (They use GHB.) Seriously though, the music coming out of Sweden right now is at least twice as amazing as the next-most amazing thing you're listening to right now (sorry, " Bruno Mars "). In my new series, Amazing Things I'm Listening to From [...]

Look. It's Hurts with (left to right) Marina and the Diamonds larger elder sister, Amy Winehouse and Little Boots. Possibly. Tuesday's NME awards certainly proved two points. First that for all the subtle shifts the magazine has made since Krissi Murison became editor back in 2009, the publication and the majority of its readership are still incredibly conservative in their musical tastes. With Dave Grohl, My Chemical Romance, Muse, Biffy Clyro and Arcade Fire all being announced as winners ( full list here [...]
Tweet Oh lookie! It's another single from our dear friends in Hurts. It's time for Sunday to be the next featured track taken from the band's successful debut record Happiness . At this point, there really isn't much more to be said about the record. With the band performing at this year's Coachella music festival, it should mean that the record will be making its way to these shores sometime soon. I dare say that when the day comes, a tour of the US will be anticipated unlike we've [...]

the HURTS just won best band at the NME awards tonight and their acceptance speech was "not too bad for a bunch of pretentious wankers who sound like Westlife". love it !! and still loving their debut album !! wotyougot
Hurts' Theo Hutchcaft and Adam Anderson once said in an interview that they like "to go for a mixture of grandeur and instant reaction" while paying attention to both "sonics and atmosphere." Those are exactly all of the vital ingredients that make up the video for their new single "Sunday." Set off by car crash, the video is an intricate piece of cinematograhpy that is filled with metaphores that neats fits the song's story about love, loss and loneliness.p What do you think about Hurts' new video?

Our favorite melancholy synth duo out of England, Hurts, shot the video for new single "Sunday" in Romania earlier this year. And if you're wondering what it's about, well, here's what crooner Theo Hutchcraft told Digital Spy last week: "We go to an exotic, beautiful place, think of a theme that no-one else will understand except us, and surround us with women so people won't ask us what it's about!" No, he wasn't kidding. Watch below. The clip for "Sunday" seems more Pet Shop Boys than most Pet Shop [...]

Vazou hoje na internet o novo videoclipe do Hurts , "Sunday" . Seguindo na mesma linha de clipes anteriores com belas moças, ótima fotografia e expressões sérias e melancólicas.

Robot works in an office where all too often, Radio Two is on in the mornings. This is fine, because sometimes you need to ease yourself into the day and thumping electronic pop and european lady pop tends to sound better after lunch anyway. But there's one song that always sounds more amazing than the rest of the Radio Two whatnot and general MOR loveliness, and that's the new Hurts single 'Sunday'. Our favourite from their debut album, Happiness, and another surefire flop from this amazing Manchester duo. The song is the perfect example of a [...]
After touring across Eastern Europe for the past few weeks, Hurts' Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson were back in the U.K. this weekend to perform their new single "Sunday" on The Graham Norton Show (watch it on YouTube ). Fantastic, flawless performance by a brilliant pop act that more people need to hear about. Their upcoming trip to the States will hopefully help them to gain more exposure. The synth-pop outfit is heading to the U.S. topplay Coachella and with a bit of luck they will book a few additional gigs as well. (If you missed my video [...]

Seamus Haji takes Hurts' latest single Sunday on a synthy ride. I consistently love Seamus Haji's work and the photos Hurts uses for their single covers. Win win. Sunday (Seamus Haji Remix) - Hurts

Greek SynthPop queens Marsheaux grace these pages once more to hit you up with a couple of awesome new reMixes. First up they bring their analog Pop to HURTS ' 'Better Than Love', and it's actually the best reMix of the track we've heard. Bright and ElectroPoppy it's dancey without turning the song into a cheesy dance track and SynthPoppy without stepping on the original's toes. Mirrors 'Into The Heart' also gets the girls attention. the Brighton SynthPop act's forthcoming single gets an retro, analog, workout with more than a little OMD about [...]

Saint Saviour , real name Becky Jones, has been known to many of you for some time. She was a member of the synth pop band The RGBs , but most of you will recall her vocals on the Groove Armada album, Black Light . She toured extensively with the latter around the globe, but having returned back to the UK, she's now ready to push her solo career front and centre. With all of this useful experience in the industry it should come as no surprise that she's also spent time as a [...]

To be fair, it's not Clare Maguire's fault. No doubt she didn't ask to be put on a tour with one of 2010's most heartening pop success stories, and who knows, maybe she didn't hand-pick her band, or choose her songs or single out the dress that's wearing her tonight. She's got a Cher-sized '80s power ballad monster of a voice, for sure, but I'm guessing she didn't elect to have her whole backline turned down to mobile phone levels either, and it seems nobody's told her the late-period trip-hop (Crustacean? Mulu? Exactly) aped by show opener 'Ain't [...]
