It's sad, but it's true; the above individual, despite being roguishly handsome and oh-so clever, has certain recurring personality flaws that have landed him upon a certain individual's... L7 - Shitlist (from Bricks Are Heavy , 1992) ...and while said individual believes there were marginally valid reasons behind his actions, he also realizes... Dr. Raju - It Doesn't Make It Alright (from Spare Shells: A Tribute to The Specials , 2000) ...and he really, truly is... [...]
With nothing planned for MML or the MySpace Listening Room this weekend, the decision was made to feature a few classic favorites from my teenage years. These 3 songs are part of a growing folder I've been keeping on my computer desktop for far too long. They were gathered here and there on various blogs and online music resource-type places over the past year or so. Don't expect much of an in

In DC there's all sorts of stuff going on... and not just at the Congressional levels... One thing I heard about is a new local law that may ban minors from attending shows in clubs. That would be a real bummer, as I grew up checking out all kinds of cool bands in venues like DC Space, 9:30 club etc before i was of legal drinking age. We'd get the X on our hand, and as long as we weren't drinking booze, we could watch groups like Jesus Lizard, Husker Du, Trouble Funk, Nick Cave & [...]

[MP3] Garbage – "I Just Wanna Have Something to Do" Saw Shirley Manson singing with the Pretenders on VH1 last night, and it reminded me of this great Ramones cover that Garbage did. [MP3] Green Day – "Outsider" Well, as long as we're doing Ramones covers, here's Green Day having at one. [MP3] Husker Du – "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker (Live)" Let's make it a Ramones Covers Friday! Husker Du does [...]

Tiny tidbits. "You want to make something real. You want to make a Yaz record." Please excuse me whilst I go through my latest phase... Yaz -- Bring Your Love Down (Didn't I) ...And then there's the day you find another person with even more exquisite, more little-c-catholic taste than your own: lovefingers.org I'll always love Bob Mould . His new project, Blowoff (oh, gosh...) is well, exactly what the world needs [...]
