Ruby Isle Genre: Classic Rock / Electronica From: Athens/Minneapolis, United States Although Mark Mallman and Dan Geller met at high school it took 10 years and the experience of setting up a label Kindercore and forming the band I Am The World Trade Centre (Geller) and performing Marathon 2 the "longest song in the history of rock" (Mallman) before they joined forces to form Ruby Isle. [...]

When I can't think of a title for a post I just come up with a stupid rhyme associated with a song title or band name. I'm so damn clever. Information Society What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy) (Club Mix) What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy) (The 54 Mix) What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy) (Percappella) What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy) (What's On Your Dub Mix) The best ever synthpop song featuring a sample of Spock. These [...]

One band that I seriously miss is I Am The World Trade Center. They put on some of my favorite live shows of the past few years. I know Dan has another band, Ruby Isle, and they've come through and played, but I missed them. I guess he's also probably pretty busy with the re-launch of Kindercore, but I would love to hear something new come from the "dynamic duo" as I like to call them. This song was recorded at their New York Knitting Factory gig way back in 2004. Download: I Am The World Trade [...]
Zündet Hot Chip bei Euch? Landauf, landab wird man ja bei den ersten süßlichen Tönen von "Ready for the floor" förmlich auf die Tanzfläche gedrängt. Das wird mir echt zu eng dort auf dem floor. I guess, I am going underground. MP3: I am the world trade center / Going Underground

sup honkeys? hopefully you all had grand thanksgivings and were all good little consumers and did your part to keep the economy alive. i know i did my part. i bought a new 4 gig sandisk thumbdrive, which was normally $70 and i got it for $20 - pretty sweet deal. yep, i am definitely helping keep that economy train chuggin along. in other news, if you want to check out captains dead radio you can now do so by clicking here . i dont have all that much streaming as of yet, but within the next week i could [...]
Today is Blog Action Day , where blogs of all types have agreed to post about a single topic, in their own way. This year's topic is the environment. I thought I'd put together a little playlist, not based on environmental-sounding titles or some other crap like that, but based on bands that are actually, really doing something about the environment. These are bands who are supporting charities, playing shows, writing books, or trying to achieve zero-carbon emissions on their tour. (more...)
I Am The World Trade Center is the vehicle of Dan Geller and Amy Dykes . The band, known for producing and recording all of their own tracks on a laptop computer, combines Dyke's light yet confident vocals with a dizzying array of samples and loops. Although the band was forced to take an abrupt hiatus in 2004 due to the unexpected diagnosis of Dyke's Hodgkins Lymphoma (she has sense recovered and is in remission) their influence can be heard throughout the rest of their labelmates on Kindercore records. [...]

Visit the man who made this card The Night Before Christmas (apologies to Clement Clarke Moore) 'Twas the night before Christmas, in the blogosphere But not a blogger was posting, it was powerful queer. I trolled the old stalwarts in search of new fayre, But came up with nothing, the web was all bare. Perhaps all my blog friends were seized with good cheer, And have spurned their computers, for those held dear. My heart, it was much warmed by this kind seasonal thought [...]
