We have been beating this project to death, but it has recently come to our attention that the Canadian post-bop trio known as BADBADNOTGOOD have received a few production credits on the soundtrack worth posting about. Okay, I can't help but asking. Why is Talib Kweli still pushing Idle Warship so hard? I mean, sure, Res has contributed some rather beautiful vocals to Kweli songs over the years, but things have spun completely out of control. The Brooklyn MC is caught somewhere between making true hip-hop tracks, and all out pop anthems. The final product always seems to end up short. Everything from the porn-esque video to the corny hook of this track makes me totally uncomfortable. Let us know what you think about this miss, as well as Idle Warship in general.

As we mentioned earlier this month, Idle Warship  is the collaboration between Philly hip-hop/R&B singer and songwriter  Res  and rapper  Talib Kweli . The duo released an album called  Habits Of The Heart  last November; it was their first album since releasing their free mixtape  Party Robot  in October. You can watch the video for "Laser Beams" off Habits Of The Heart below. Idle Warship performs with Boy Wonder, Bianca Raquel, and Lady at 8 p.m. at World Cafe Live; tickets to the show are $25–$48.
