How can Valentine's Day be metal, you ask? Metal is about HATE and DESTRUCTION, not LOVE and CREATION! Well, French poet Charles Baudelaire proved otherwise way before metal was invented with his poem "Une Charonge," often translated as "A Carcass." Baudelaire speaks of rotting flesh like most of us would talk about someone we'd like to engage in carnal pleasure with. However it's translated, it

Le Butcherettes played The Warfield on Tuesday night, opening for Iggy and The Stooges.

Ep. 506 - Iggy and The Stooges @ The Palladium - Hollywood, Ca - 12/02/11 I had only seen Iggy and The Stooges one time before this show, so I was pretty excited to finally have the chance to get to see them again. Unfortunately I didn't have a ticket, no money, and was running extremely late to the Palladium. Poppinoff's Iggy and the Stooges adventure I arrived at the Palladium about 10 minutes before Iggy and The [...]
"Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned." I sat uncomfortably in the confessional. Beyond the wood and iron door, night fell about the cathedral. No parishioners walked the pews. A lone janitor mopped the floors in silent circles. Candles burned in a silent stare of remorse as the crucified form of Jesus stared down at me. A mix of mercy and condemnation in his eyes. I'm not Catholic, but my transgression was so great I had no other choice. To save my music-loving soul, I needed confession. "Yes, my [...]

Photo by Debi Del Grande Not even a broken foot could get in the way of Iggy Pop and his Stooges ' utter destruction of the Hollywood Palladium. Granted, it took a couple months of rescheduling but the legend had no trouble making up for lost time, ripping through a career-spanning 17-song set to a capacity-crowd at one of Hollywood's biggest venues. Support came in the form of Whitey Kirst and Le Butcherettes . The latter's spiked garage-punk was especially well-received by a crowd who were all too eager to headbang and thrash about [...]
Filed under: Exclusive , The Hit List Every good protest needs a soundtrack, and though these turbulent times may have inspired mostly escapist pop about dance floor decadence, we live in a post-iPod era where the [...]
You've gotta hand it to the Ig-man.

At 63, the "world's forgotten boy" hasn't slowed down. On Tuesday, MVD Entertainment will release Iggy and the Stooges' "Raw Power Live: In The Hands Of The Fans" on DVD and Blu-Ray. The video captures Iggy & the Stooges performing their classic album Raw Power along with tracks from the first two Stooges' albums and Kill City at the All Tomorrow's Parties Festival on Friday, September 3, 2010. I saw The Stooges at Roseland Ballroom on their first reunion tour. When Iggy jumped into the crowd and seemed to be heading [...]

Watch out, Karen O. Or better yet, watch out Iggy Pop, and anyone else for that matter because bad ass frontwoman Teri Gender Bender and the raw and increasingly fierce (x 1,000) Le Butcherettes are taking their own brand of powerful garage-punk on the road this fall. Starting tonight, the fearless Los Angeles trio will embark on a tour that includes support for The Flaming Lips and the aforementioned Iggy and The Stooges while mixing in their first-ever headlining shows. Talk about intense. A fair warning though: Le Butcherretes [...]

Iggy Pop and the Stooges were set to launch a four-date West coast tour in Los Angeles tonight, but then Iggy Pop went and broke his foot . The band has since rescheduled the affected dates; they'll now play L.A. on December 1st, with a pair of shows in San Francisco following on December 4th and 6th. The Las Vegas date at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is yet to be determined. In equally great news, Le Buchetteres remain the opening act for the new dates. The [...]

The Stooges have been forced to postpone their upcoming West coast tour after frontman Iggy Pop broke two bones in his foot at a concert in Romania last month. According to a note on the band's Facebook page , the 64-year-old punk legend needs six to eight weeks of rest in order to make a full recovery. Says Pop: "I hate this, I hate like hell to cancel or postpone anything. I only saw the doctor because it hurt so ******* much and I couldn't fix it myself. Please be patient, I am so excited about these dates [...]

Well, watch CoS get personal with the outfit's Teri Gender Bender and Jonathan Hiscke during Lollapalooza 2011, then get ready to Sin Sin Sin live with the complete threesome during a string of fall performances opening for Iggy and The Stooges and The Flaming Lips. Set in a small farmland just outside Tonbridge, Kent, Hop Farm is one of the best kept secrets of the summer on the British festival circuit.
Glaswegian garage-punk/psych rockers, SHe'S HiT will release their debut album Pleasure on June 6th in the UK on RE:PEATER Records. The opening track, " Miriam Hollow " has recently been made available. The band told Artrocker, "This song really came together in the studio, Phil and Cammy had been working on it but it was lacking something. Emily (McLaren, studio engineer) played bass on this one and after a few plays she totally understood it, it's all about that motorik rhythm from the bass [...]

It's been a while since we've seen Iggy and the Stooges take the stage here in Los Angeles since their headlining date at the Wiltern back in 2007, but now the wait is over! Iggy and the Stooges are back...
It's been four years since the last Stooges comeback album, the Weirdness , was released, so it's about time to start thinking a new Stooges album WON'T be a nightmare. So here comes news that the Stooges, down one Ron Asheton, are planning to record a new album soon with their 1973 guitarist, James Williamson. Williamson rejoined the band last year for the Raw Power dates, and it's first album with the band since that seminal album. There's no word on when to expect the new album, but Iggy is also working on another covers album, along [...]
