Even though I'm adjusting to my new schedule at my new job and that's making it hard to do my other normal postings, I have enough experience making these podcasts that I can do them in one sitting if I put my mind to it. I should have a new laptop sometime this summer and I think that's going to mean a renaissance for this blog. I will have email submissions, my external hard drive, and my recording location all in one place. It's going to be killer. So. I made you a countdown. Hope you [...]

Opening the evening and armed with only his six-string, Benjamin Francis Leftwich brought a sold out crowd to a stand-still at the legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood on Friday night. The York based singer-songwriter and recent Vagrant signee held the captive audience for his brief 35 minute set. Fans sang along to Leftwich's inquisitive lyrics and distinctive voice. I'll admit, I was interested to hear the hushness and subtle rasps of his vocals in a live setting. Could someone actually sing like that? They can and Leftwich serves an example. Perhaps the smokes help, as Ben asked [...]
One listen to this song and I was hooked. Next minute I'd jumped on iTunes, downloaded their latest EP, Continued Silence, and listened through six completely unique and eclectic tracks. From Las Vegas, Imagine Dragons are set for a hectic touring schedule in 2012. Last year, they hit the road with The Jezebels.
If you've been reading B3SCI for a minute then you know we could not be more psyched to catch Ben Leftwich at the legendary Troubadour this Friday (5/11)! The UK based singer-songwriter is rolling through Los Angeles, as part of his debut US tour, and will be performing to a sold out crowd with The Jezabels and Imagine Dragons. We've got an extra pair of tickets to this don't miss show that we'd like to give away to one lucky reader that's as excited to see him as we are! To win just email us here [...]

Imagine Dragons get their first official remix of "It's Time" from dubstep producer Vaski. The Las Vegas natives have been popping up everywhere lately, with the recent video premiere of "It's Time" on MTV, release of their major label debut EP Continued Silence , and a number of sold out shows throughout the US. Known for tribal rhythms similar to Foster The People with a dance-ready synthesis in the vein of the Killers and MGMT, indie, pop, and rock fans alike will be hooked on Imagine Dragons in 2012.
Caught this song by Imagine Dragons on XM radio a few weeks ago and kinda dug it. MTV.com premiered the "It's Time" video yesterday and since they don't allow embedding, the best I can offer you is the 30-second teaser the band posted on their own YouTube page. If you want to watch the whole thing, click here Imagine Dragons play at The A&R Music Bar tonight. Tickets are $12. With all the buzz about this band (they'll be [...]
The Bunbury Festival - taking place July 13-15 in Cincinnati and featuring headliners Jane's Addiction , Weezer , Death Cab for Cutie - announced another wave of performers on Friday afternoon. Quite a few highlights despite not a ton of well-known names. And for those wondering, The Flaming Lips , The National , and The Afghan Whigs will NOT be performing due. Friday: Crash King, Henry Clay People, Capital Cities, Kids These Days, G Miles & the Hitmen, Find Vienna, Humble [...]

![[Dub] Imagine Dragons- Radioactive](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4144593_lg.jpg)
The Las Vegas quintet known as Imagine Dragons has, including their 2/14 release, four EPs under their belt. Having debuted in 2009, the releases kind of timeline the development and progression of the band- and hint at minor stylistic changes for the future. The Continued Silence EP actually lives up the the opposite of its name, if that makes sense, which is perfectly okay when you hear songs like "Radioactive". With "Radioactive" the band has taken a somewhat new approach and the track begins kind of mellow, smoothly played guitar licks frolicking over picked chord progression. [...]
I haven't really been posting recently. It's been a combo of being busy and listening to an embarrassing amount of pop that isn't worth writing about. I don't know if/when either of those things is going to change soon but I'll write a post about a song that is over a year old and has been covered by many music blogs already...so you know, pretending that I'm being an awesome forwarding-looking music blogger by looking to what's already been covered in the past. Pretending being the key word. Tangent aside, here's Imagine Dragons's It's Time . It's [...]

In addition to apparently torrential rain at SXSW Interactive this week (which my hair is SUPER EXCITED ABOUT), the torrent of people are already flooding into the city in preparation for our annual music sleep-away camp. The music portion starts on Wednesday, and I'll be heading down tomorrow for my panel on Tuesday morning at 9:30m ( Man vs Machine: New Music Discovery ). I always try to brace myself with a shortlist of bands that I'd like to try to see in all the wonderful madness; here are my personal picks for [...]

Your to-do list for the evening: ► With a new EP "Headcage" out in January and the album "Beams" on the way Matthew Dear visits the Eagle Rock Center for the Ars, supported by Mini Mansions and ESP. The Submarines and PAPA [see our interview with [...]

Mondays in L.A. are worth so much more than the price of admission. Funny how so much that I want to see tonight is residency FREE. ►I recommend that you do some additional stretching because night #3 of Youngblood Hawke 's Satellite residency gets even more hyper as it includes my Vegas-to-L.A. transplant loves, Imagine Dragons . FREE at The Satellite along with Rainbow Jackson. ► The Naked and Famous ply their New Zealand trade at the Music Box with the Chain Gang of 1974 and White Arrows in support. ► Mind [...]

Oh, Sunset Strip, you conflict me so. On one hand you are an interactive museum of rock clichés, Madame Tussauds with a pulse and a Flying V, a vast portion of your denizens seeking to inhabit the tattooed skin of GnR/Jane's/Van Halen. On the other you inspire a certain sense of wonderment, because the fabric of Los Angeles needs your leather, lace and spandex, and maybe even Steel Panther just for laughs, no matter what they say east of Fairfax. And because your clubs sound great. Now we arrive at this year's annual chest-thumping party, the Sunset Strip Music [...]
