The first track I heard, 'Ghosts' from their new LP (apparently still untitled, though it's out this fall), indeed warranted such a comparison: lead singer Jared Scott's waltzing baritone vocal leaves little to the imagination. But a quick listen to a couple extra tracks and that comparison quickly falls apart. There's a ruggedness to their sound that The National usually only hints at.
