![[MP3] Deluce’s ‘ Signs’](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4844356_lg.jpg)
No sooner does Parisian Elector-House producer Deluce jump back onto our radar, after four years, with a storming reMix of Pyramid's The Frontier , and he’s back with a new track, Signs. Signs give us a better feel for what he;s been up to recently and where he’s going (Spoiler Alert: It’s to some pretty dark places). Signs is a growling slab of Industrial-tinged Electro. Brutal in it’s execution and leaving very little respite from abrasive synth sounds throughout it’s length. Meticulously crafted, this tune feels like a labour or [...]

Kontravoid is the brooding dark electronic project of Toronto based Cam Findlay. Some of you Witch Bitches may also know him as the former drummer of Crystal Castles. He played the Club Elysium in Austin, TX on 3/16/13 as part of the Moog/Switched On showcase. And what a mother-fucking moment as he had the crowd moving to his rather dark pulsating beats emanating from his dark as fuck analogue synths. His music has that definitive Industrial/New Wave feel to it that you original Cats may be used to. My helper Eli pointed out that during the performance his [...]

Jonah Bromwich will not be anyone's "blueberry lollipop," just so you know. I’m not at the point where I can get specific with numerals when rating The 20/20 Experience , but I feel comfortable saying that the album is “pretty good.” I’ve listened to it about five times or so. While I can’t say how certain songs are going to land (i.e. how much I’m going to like them once the catchiness takes hold and they start spinning around my brain), I can give a decent description of what they’re like and I’ve been [...]

Yesterday was a delight. Though it was a bit chilly, the sun shined all day. I left my self-imposed hibernation and went outside to do some yard work and Gracie came with me. When I'd finished, I stood on the deck for a while and watched Gracie try to figure out how to carry a slightly deflated basketball in her mouth. She managed and ran around the yard in triumph. I did a laundry, changed my bed and the cat litter, filled the feeders and went on an errand. It was an industrious day all brought about because of the [...]

Following on from Full Of Fire, Swedish ElectroPop Experimentalists The Knife ’s second new video from their forthcoming Shaking The Habitual album is A Tooth For An Eye. It’s an undulating avant-garde workout, blanketed in warm tones and percussion. The video, challenging gender roles, was directed by Roxy Farhat and Kakan Hermansson, gets their point across whist managing to me both mysterious and funny. A Tooth For An Eye is taken from The Knife’s forthcoming album, Shaking The Habitual , released 8th April, [...]

How to Destroy Angels is the newest project from Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, and on the group's debut full-length, Welcome oblivion , his extensive pedigree is apparent. Despite the mercurial influence of his collaborator, wife Mariqueen Maandig, Welcome oblivion remains a firmly Reznor-esque album. Welcome oblivion doesn't say anything new, nor does it say anything in any particularly new way. However, the musical lessons it does recite are put to ground profoundly, and the album itself is justified by Reznor's and Atticus Ross' slick production and Maandig's sharp lyrical sense. Reznor's work in [...]

The weirdo industrial/noise-rock duo of Buck Gooter have been making music since around 2005, but like me, I imagine many have yet to stumble across them despite being rather prolific. My first taste of them was on their Consider the Grackles album released in early 2012. Intrigued by the bluesy explosion of guitar mangle backed by the industrial pound of a drum machine and violent howling vocals, I pretty much figured it was a given that I need to hear their latest album Witch Molecules . Released [...]

As long-time readers will know, we like to throw the doors to Thrash Hits open every now and again to let musicians have a bit of a shout and rant about something that's got on their tits. We've had Rich from Xerath on political lyrics, Dale from Malefice discuss metal fans' distrust of success, and Swanny from Monuments on bourgeois concepts regarding spiritual and social fulfilment. The latest in this line of infamany is Daniel Garrod , formerly the drummer of Bastions , who wants to get something off his chest on the subject of freeloading guestlisters. Take it [...]

It's either Saturday or Sunday when I try to share some synthpop. Today, I came across the artwork for the new ZyniC album "Blindsided". The first album came out in 2011 and was a perfect showcase of several genres. I'll leave you with this more accessible piece, but there's some industrial, some dark-dancefloor, and everything in between on the 2011 "Fire Walk With Me" release. I am very confident that 2013's "Blindsided" will bring more excellent music.
