**** THIS IS A DRAFT**** 4-21-12 For any one who payed $250+ and endured the blistering heat at Coachella, I have a notion for you. A music festival conveniently located in down town LA that cost $5! Just like it's well-known brethen, Brokechella had multiple stages - well two actually. One located beneath the vaulted ceiling of Studio Six01 and an outdoor stage. The indoor stage featured danceable indie rock. The stand out performance was delivered by INFANTREE, who's frontman, guitarist, and basist worked up a sweat harmonizing together. Performances by Yoya and Das Tapes also stood [...]
[Photo credit: Justin Baker] Deep in the monotonous cracks of downtown LA, the 2nd-annual edition of Brokechella announced itself with a homemade cardboard & Christmas lights "Brokechella" sign. So appropriately designed, even a 2Pac mural greeted you upon entrance! A Jarritos truck garnished the DJ stage outside while the main stage faced a shipwreck themed bar [...]
VOXHAUL BROADCAST RESIDENCY WITH INFANTREE, VANAPRASTA, AND RAINBOW JACKSON ON MONDAY MAR. 26TH AT THE SATELLITE, 1717 SILVER LAKE BOULEVARD, LOS ANGELES. 8:30PM/ FREE/ 21+

Tarfest — the annual music and arts festival that brings a day of activities to the Miracle Mile — will feature L.A. rockers Everest and Saint Motel at the top of a bill for a free, outdoor show on Sept. 25 at the La Brea Tar Pits. The festivities, which begin at noon, will also include sets from A House for Lions , Obi Best and Infantree . In addition to the music, Tarfest will feature art installations, live painting, children's activities and food trucks.

Hard to go wrong at any of the free residencies tonight. To recap: ► Expansive Americana with Robert Francis at the Bootleg Theater, where Blair , Papa and Cave Country support. Francis' new material impressed last week, and the singer-songwriter was joined by his sister Juliette Commagere (pictured) for a couple of songs. ► Tuneful indie-rock with the Ross Sea Party at the Silverlake Lounge, where A House For Lions , Spirit Vine and the Dead Ships round out [...]

indie folk // rock "How long can you disguise what you feel with a song?" is my favorite lyric from one of the more intriguing albums I've heard. Infantree 's Would Work is similar to what a present-day Déjà Vu might be: deeply poetic with louder rock, banjo-fringed folk and baroque styling. Strong lead vocals, each unique to their three songwriting members, and marvelous harmonies stay my attention alongside progressive musical arrangements. Every song is a [...]

[No tantrums today — it's Fitz's birthday. Cheers to Michael Fitzpatrick on the eve of his band's big homecoming show at the Music Box:] Tonight's flurry of activity: ► This week's installment of the free Also I Like to Rock series at the Hammer Museum will sizzle with a little joie de pop — headlining are Grouplove , the L.A. quintet whose debut album "Never Trust a Happy Song" arrives Sept. 13 via Canvasback/Atlantic. The fivesome has [...]

This video, Main Attrakionz charisma and the tracks production instantly reminded me of Philly's Most Wanted " Cross the Border ". I don't know much about Infantree but they bill themselves as a "band from California with a deep love for film" which is made obvious through the crispness of "Power". "Power" doesn't have an mp3 yet although the word from Infantree is that it is coming soon. In the meantime, "World Tour" from the Blackberry Ku$h Bonus Disc pairs extremely well and will hold you over. [...]
The 10th annual Bonnaroo set off under the stars, heat, and dust to please about 100,000 attendees only proving that the fest is getting more and more credible and extravagant as the years go by.

dan kern Download Infantree "Water" (from Would Work available now from Infantree) The first full-length release by Infantree, Would Work , displays the cohesion of six-days-a-week practice sessions and the kind of collaborative songwriting that comes from lack of ego and love of making music. The songwriting itself is the work of all four members, who use an osmosis-style approach with guitar licks and bits of lyrics that must develop in the group subconscious. The folk/barbershop/classic [...]
BLOOM VICARIOUS, CUE THE MOON, CHICKEN OR FISH, AND INFANTREE ON SUNDAY APR. 10TH AT THREE CLUBS, 1123 NORTH VINE STREET, HOLLYWOOD. 9:00PM/ $5/ 21+

Amanda Jo Williams headlined at the Echo, playing an amazing set all around, with the band in full glorious rocking form, which got us excited for her upcoming April residency at the Echo. Infantree and Stone Feather put on excitement and took off clothes, respectively, and although we don't have pictures of Stone Darling, they covered the luscious lady part of the evening. Between the music and the video, this represents everything that is wrong with American Indie in 2010.

Stuy Town, a secluded New York City neighborhood sandwiched between Alphabet City and Kips Bay, is one of our absolute favorite places to film. It's intimate, quiet, and has more trees than nearly any other neighborhood in the city. For our session with LA-based Infantree , we wandered into the apartment complex like we usually do, but were greeted by two unexpected guests. A black squirrel and a security guard. Even though the squirrel has absolutely no problem with us shooting in his home, the security guard gave us some trouble. Obviously, we're filming at the [...]
Infantree present the video for "Slaughter House" from their debut album Would Work . http://infantreemusic.com/

For some reason, I subjected myself to VH-1 and FUSE's Top 20 video countdowns this weekend. And while the jury is still out on how I feel about Lil' Wayne, I now realize that I haven't missed Nelly one bit and Pitbull's skills are being under-utilized at best. I still love videos, I'm sure owing to my being sentient at the birth of MTV, but more and more, it takes something a little left-of-center to really grab me. Enter Infantree , the new crown princes of the San Fernando Valley. Recorded at legendary [...]
