This is the newest single off of Jake One's Rhymesayers Entertainment masterpiece White Van Music . The track features Vitamin D, C Note, Ish & Maneak B. This track paints a pretty vivid picture of Jake's hometown of Seattle. You also get a cameo from Sir Mix a Lot in the beginning that is one that you won't forget (where has he been for like 15 years?). Jake One drops the second video off of his superb album, White Van Music , released via Rhymesayers back in 2008. Below the video is some behind the scenes footage from the video shoot. This video holds it down for Seattle big time: Zia Mohajerjasbi , who has done videos for Common Market and Blue Scholars, was the director, Sir Mix-A-Lot brought out his orange Lambo, and (former Minnesota Viking) Nate Burleson represented for the Seattle Seahawks as well.

ish! from Race Car Productions is another artist I am going to post which has once called Cincinnati home. Forgoing the physical release for just digital has been done. The "Radiohead" model is no longer newsworthy. You packaged your CD free with Britain's Mail On Sunday newspaper? No one cares. So what's an artist to do these days to grab your attention? How about releasing a single mp3 containing three-quarters of an hour's worth of music? For 49 cents . That's what Paul Westerberg just did. Of course, it helps to be a legendary musician... this would have passed right under everyone's [...]
One could describe the music of the brooklyn based duo, Ish , as intelligent indie rock. Their combination of choice instruments, interesting vocal melodies, and clever transitions make their music most premium. I don't know whether it's the use of the children's vocal sample or the unexpected blaring horns that make the hook to "What Is It?" so memorable, but each time this track ends, my only thought is.... I gotta hear that one again. Ish is in the midst of finishing [...]

i fell off, i admit it. but, i'm back. no excuses... let's get on with it. Lifesavas are back from their 3+ year departure with Gutterfly . the follow-up isn't as good as i expected, but that's always the way it goes. this is still new in my rotation but there's a few standout cuts already and a few surprises. first is Double Up - and it is straight up funky and the first cut on this album that stuck out. a [...]
