If you have even a passing interest in drum & bass – or electronic music in general for that matter – you will already be well acquainted with J Majik & Wickaman . During a career that has spanned over a decade, countless genre-defining records, a worldwide touring schedule and even chart success, the duo have written their names indelibly on to the DNA of British dance music . Five years on from the release of their seminal debut album ‘ Crazy World ’, the production pairing are now ready to unleash their eagerly anticipated sophomore [...]
A little different than the material that we're used to bringing you is the Guzzla remix of J Majik ' and Wickaman 's collaboration with vocalist Kate Loveridge . Already receiving tons of love on BBC Radio 1 , this remix blends so many genres together, it becomes real difficult to place it - but I think that's a good thing. A bouncy, garage themed rhythm opens the track up as the warped vocals lead directly into a bass heavy hardstyle drop. [...]
J Majik & Wickaman will drop their first album for some years in May and fresh from a recent Radio 1 appearance/mix I asked them what kept them on fire about the music: 'D&B is... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]
Gah! We love us some garage here at TMN. If you ever want to see a blogger pop and lock across the office floor, just give us a two step beat and driving bassline. Well kiddos, that's exactly what we have for you today. J Majik and Wickaman's DnB track "Lift Me Up" has gotten a little facelift by Guzzla. While there's little to no information out there on this UK remixer, we're happy he showed his skills on this energetic, uplifting vocal gem. The remix will be featured on the "Lift Me Up" package, [...]
The weekend has come and gone, and now you're deep into your weekly grind. Never fear, Wobble Wednesday is back with more of your favorite face-melting bass drops to help you make the most of your mundane lifestyle. Today I'll be guiding you along through the many variations of bass music that we see these days, new and old. I wanted to turn the Wobble Wednesday feature into more than just a section for today's dubstep, so I decided it was only right to incorporate some drum & bass as well as an oldies section into the weekly feature. [...]

So, it's that time of year. 2011 has seen many interesting developments in dance music. For starters, it now fills the charts, with Guetta's new album plastered all over the top 40, again... Skrillex now seems to be regarded as the best thing since sliced bread, with 5 grammy nominations. Justice have returned, eventually, their album having a different kind of look, some may call it prog. rock, nonetheless it's a very enjoyable listen. My tip for next year? Garage. This genre has seen somewhat of a comeback in 2011, with MJ Cole producing and remixing Wretch 32 [...]

SGTMT

Tweet SGTMT has had ten days off work. Ten days of sitting around is a lot. Today was our first day back at the grindstone and after just one day's worth of slaving we've arrived back at SGTMT headquarters in a sort of half-awake, half-asleep state, like Edward Norton in Fight Club . We need another holiday already. We're knackered. When we're in this state we, or this writer at least, reverts to type and the only thing that gets us going is drum [...]

About time to post a proper Drum and Bass post on here. I feel like Drum and Bass is just not appreciated here in the states, but is just a hit in the U.K. and down in OZ. After the infectious outbreak of Dubstep , the true Drum and Bass fan is hard to find here. Hope you'll enjoy these sounds of the Jungle just as much as me. Some of these tracks were taken from the Drum and Bass Area-Evolution album. Be sure to cop that if your [...]
After seeing Rusko last night, it's clear that he dominates the decks with energy that flows through the crowd like a tidal wave. I've included a bonus song from Rusko, but the quality is low because it's only the radio rip, regardless, I think you should hear it. Enjoy the crunch and spread the jams. [...]

Last night Annie Mac played Mike Delinquent 's remix of J. Majick & Wickaman's 'In Pieces' and when I heard it I loved it. I have never been into Garage, apart from a bit of DJ Luck and MC Neat but other than that it's all new to me. Mike Delinquent seems to be bringing it back from the 902s; he's remixed Wretch 322s Traktor (which I don't like that much) and even Adele. Also Rack N Ruin have added to the remixes with a similarly awesome job. 'In Pieces' and the remixes will [...]

pic by Sam Bassett How about some fresh drum & bass tunes! I'll start with some more easy listening, liquid drum & bass before getting to the heavy hitters. This first track hasn't been released yet, but it's just too good not to share. J Majik & Wickaman - Ritual [clip] "All I Need" by Colourz is the opening track of Liquid Soldiers 2010. The vocal work reminds me of some Netsky productions, but the track definitely has its own style. [...]

Today I got some fresh drum & bass for you. Jump Up drum & bass, that is. We've got big names like J Majik, Hazard and DJ Die (picture above) delivering the latest dancefloor bangers. Let's start with the true king of Jump Up, DJ Hazard . He has made big hits like Mr. Happy, Busted, Machete, Killers Don't Die, Tactix, etc. With his latest release "Platinum Shadow EP" he keeps bringing his signature fast paced beats (around 189bpm) with some deep wobbles on top of it. Listen to those snare drums! Heavy! [...]

-Photo from last GASH Rave- Weekend is here, time to get your groove on. Thought Id wack up some good old dnb since im off to rave to Hazard & Sub Focus tonight. I didn't make it to the last GASH free-party but i wish I did, judging by the pic it was a heavy night. Got to put out respect to the people behind these events, they don't get enought credit in my opinion. And [...]

photo: Rob Lee First up today something I never realised - Michael Jackson and Eddie Murphy released a song together !? As strange as it sounds, "Whatzupwitu" was released in 1993 as a collaboration between the two and featured on Eddie Murphy's album, "Love's Alright". The single and album inevitably flopped, which is probably why I've never heard of the song. Still it shows Michael did have some low points in his career musically. Anyway the first song today is also old, but this time only a year or so. [...]

Loving this track right now. You can follow our SoundCloud here . Deadmau5 & Kaskade - I Remember (J Majik & Wickaman Remix)

photo: mr.analog Haven't posted in a bit as music dried up but now I've got too much to post! Gonna try and get round to it all within the next few days. Most of you will know of Kesha as the girl from Flo Rida's 'Right Round' and before that I can't say she was too well-known. I got one of her original tracks not long after Right Round came out and wasn't all impressed, until I got another the other day and fell in love. Its called 'Tick Tock [...]

Hello world, This is my first installment of my guest appearance on my good friend Sid's blog! I've selected four tunes that i've been playing out alot recently and the time has come to share them with you! First of all a remix of the awesome Daft Punk from an Australian artist, Ghetto Ruckus. I'm always wary of a Daft Punk remix as its almost impossible to beat the original, but this man has given the track a [...]
