Find them at basement nights and warehouse one-offs reaching from New York to Montreal and overseas Berlin, a collect of conneisseuring clubbers. Void of tasteless vagabonds and cheap standards, looking to give credit where credit is due. The recent flood of clichéd counterfeits has made most music better left unsaid, but it's...
Jack Dixon Those Questions EP After awesome releases during 2012 for label of the moment Hotflush, R&S offshoot Apollo and Hypercolour's experimental sister Losing Suki, Jack Dixon has revealed details of his new label, White Asega. âInspired by the bygone euphoria of early analogue techno and the harsh industrial landscape outside his window, the six tracks [...]
Jack Dixon's new EP for Berlin/London based White Asega starts out with a big rave bass slap in the face! The collection of 6 tracks was apparently recorded whilst battling insomnia during a cold and bleak Berlin winter. "Inspired by [...]
Berlin-based producer, Jack Dixon , today dropped his Those Questions EP as the first release to appear on his new label, White Asega . Mr. Dixon has said that this new EP was "recorded whilst battling insomnia during a cold and bleak Berlin winter". The six tracks of Those Questions combine classic rave vocals, an elaborative house rhythm and a bass that is sure to make your heartbeat sync up with it. This EP and every other release on the label in the near future will be available on a âpay-what-you-wishâ [...]

Adam Wray is really The Professor from the And 1 videos. Dauwd's sound is nothing if not of its time. Stacked with steady 4/4 rhythms, down-pitched vocal snatches, and neon synths, it fits snugly with the style of Chicago-indebted house plied by producers like Julio Bashmore and George Fitzgerald. With just two 123s and a remix to his name, the London-based Dauwd is less than prolific, but what his work lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality and consistency. He has a deft touch, recalling acts like The Field in his [...]

Tender Hooks is the collective brainchild of four wayward scamps drawn together by their love of meat, lager and quality dance music. Still in it's infancy, this club night/record label hybrid is already showing a lot of promise with a lip-licking line-up taking over the first room of Corsica Studios this Friday - 1st Feb. We caught up with the chaps and asked them for their selections of the â tenderest hooks â to come out of the underground over the past decade or so of dance music. Gareth: [...]

2012 was a pretty amazing year for "Future" music. A lot of incredible artists, a lot of amazing releases. While certain unbearably aggressive genres (ehem) were being washed away due to people finally coming to their senses (for the most part) quality rose to the top again allowing Future Bass, Garage and soulful House to take the forefront. Here's what was awesome in 2012: EVERYBODY GET BACK IN THE HOUSE: It seems as though most roots Dubstep or bass heavy artists from 2005 and on have [...]
Following a positively pumping release on Leftroom Limited, Jack Dixon graced us with a lovely three track EP for free via his soundcloud. A lush, yet irreverent blend of house and UK percussive influence, this release evokes a contemporary urban landscape wrought with emotion. And it confirms what we already knew: if Jack Dixon can give away an EP of this quality on his day off, then the talented young producer has clearly got quite a back catalog of productions at his disposal. The EP's title, 1, is telling insofar as it evokes simplicity and  signifies [...]

UK producer Jack Dixon just released a free three song EP. Despite it being completely free, it's not just a collection of throw away tracks; they're completely thought out and well produced. So, instead of having to hunt it down on some sketchy blog or forum, stream and download right here. Download: Zippyshare

Leftroom Records big wig Matt Tolfrey and exciting newcomer Laura Jones bring you this morning's mix courtesy of a live set from a Mixmag DJ Lab performance back at the beginning of November. Laura Jones, a name associated both with big guns like Visionquest and Leftroom Records, is best known for her 2011 breakout production "Love In Me" but has been sending critics into a flurry of excitement with her fresh take on a very deep and very melodic brand of house music. Matt Tolfrey, on the other hand, seems to be hitting his stride more and more every year both [...]

Forget next year's trends, in this day and age too many will settle for just flavours of the week. But it's the releases that stay in your mind and playlist that make those tiresome hours digging through overprocessed goods all worth it. We'll take care of some of that burden so you can sip straight from the raw with Night Rumours : skipping the homogenization to bring you top shelf dance music. Nothing too obvious or obscure, old or new. Just wholesome unpasteurized goodness. This week's edition sees you through a healthy portion of house, techno, and [...]

London imprint Hot Flush are looking to end 2012 on a high note with Jack Dixon ; just in time for those Best of lists.

Not a bad way to see out the ending of summer with this goodbye wave from Leftroom which takes us down into dark rave basements for winter hibernation. This VA sees Huxley, Pezzner, Jack Dixon, Coat of Arms, Jaimer Vincentie and Tolfrey alongside Sam Russo all give us a selection of fine deep and housey grooves. Particular stand out track for me is the Leftroom debut of Jack Dixon with his warm take on the modern garage cut âSpin Driveâ. The whole package is out now on Beatport... just click the little button below innit...
